Considering the "Friends" cast got paid $1M per episode, I don't think $8M is too much.

I also hear that Dexter is having the same issue. That show could be toast soon as well.

Looks like they have reached the point of diminishing returns. There are so many episodes already made that making more doesn't add much more value to the money they can make in syndication, hense why make more? Especially at this cost.

E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos reports today that Hank Azaria, the voice of "Moe the Bartender", and the other regular voice actors on "The Simpsons" have until tomorrow to accept 20th Century FOX Television's reduced salary to continue voicing the longest running comedy in TV history for a 24th season next year.

It could be a double whammy for Hank, as his new workplace comedy "Free Agents", got cancelled today by NBC due to low ratings after just 4 episodes.
