Did shakes find love on the Cruise? Did he find a seven inch cock between Toni Ferrari's legs? And I don't mean Darin's.

Quite the write-up from that site -

Love Cruise: The Maiden Voyage (Fox, 2001)

This optimistically-titled little gem was a “love cruise” in name only. True, the ship is populated by 16 sexy(?) singles, and they had to compete in male-female pairs for the $200,000 prize, but it turns out that sexual compatibility – or chemistry, or contact of any kind – was completely irrelevant and not at all helpful. Coming along rather early in the evolution of reality TV, the show took the kitchen sink approach to format that would soon become the norm; the competition included team challenges, votes by “Gender Juries,” a “hot seat” for random interrogations, truth-or-dare, something called a Switch Card, and a gang of cast-offs who could return from “Loser Island” at the show’s end to make a grab for the prize. The couple that wielded the most power (though they did not win the prize – I think vengeful Loser Island returnees had something to do with it) was the most asexual pair of people you’d ever hope to meet. (Michael and Jeanette were a slightly chunky pair, both given to pleat-front khaki shorts, who must have barely passed the producers’ standards for “sexy,” although it’s not at all hard to believe they were both single.) Why was this so awesome? To fully understand, you’d have to meet Toni Ferrari, broad-shouldered Love Cruise villain and one of the most prolific players in turn-of-the-century reality TV. Toni’s credits include Blind Date and the so-boring-even-I-couldn’t watch-it Paradise Hotel, but her first and finest performance was as chief sh*t-stirrer on Love Cruise. Her screaming, bug-eyed freak-out featured prominently in Love Cruise promos, and when it finally came about toward season’s end, it did not disappoint. It seems that the internet has forgotten this seminal moment in television, but imagine this photo leaning in on you and screaming while the veins on its neck almost burst, and you’ll get the idea. Toni was a pioneer in reality strategies – the fake self-sacrificing “I want you to vote me off” campaign; the alliance switcheroo and disavowal – that we now take for granted. Love Cruise‘s maiden voyage also proved to be its swan song, but it brought us Toni and her righteous anger. Respect.

That's a great write up. As bad as LC was, looking back it really was a reality tv pioneer in a lot of ways. For instance, the whole bringing people back after they have been voted out that you see on so many shows nowadays? Love Cruise did that first. i still remember yelling at the producers about how stupid that was and how they ruined the show. I like how the guy mentions how I lost because of vengeful losers voting in the end. Back then, at the beginning of reality tv shows like this, juries were so bitter and self absorbed. It was always about what the finalists did to them, now what they did to win. Nowadays juries in general have a lot more respect for gameplay and put personal feelings aside when voting. Looking back I definitely made a couple strategical mistakes, but overall I played a much better game than anyone else. Oh well, it was only for $150,000. It would be long gone by now anyway.

Might not have won the money but I did enjoy my 15 minutes to the fullest. Going to bars and having groupies for about 2 years was quite a perk.

I still say that no one was hurt worse by 9/11 than me. Could've probably extended my reality tv career had it not happened.

Teh only girl I hooked up with on the show was Jewish...and then she went with some other dude so I had her voted off the boat.

About 4 years after it ended I had to go to LA to film the where are they now stuff and I hooked up with the girl who won the show..smoking hot blonde Melissa, pictured sitting second from the left in the light blue dress.
