Being a fan of Hollywood Babble On, I've heard Kevin Smith talk about this movie on multiple occasions so when I found out it would be playing in Davenport* on opening weekend, I figured I owed it to my curiosities to check it out. If you aren't familiair of the premise, a guy goes to visit an older man to interview for his podcast, and it turns out the older man wants to turn him into a walrus (just typing that makes me scream Oscar).

I thought this movie was going to be kind of fucked up going in but it ended up being really fucked up. The...walrus...is an image I'll never get out of my head. I wasn't particular freaked out by it (same can't be said for my fiance, who said she was going to have nightmares) but it certainly was a shock the first time I saw it. There weren't a lot of people in the theater with us but every person who was there laughed heartily at all the stupid Kevin-Smith TM jokes that we did, so I guess he's got that going for him.

Johnny Depp shows up about two thirds of the way through to play an inspector turned bounty hunter and he's pretty much fucking crazy. I don't know how much of it was the way the character was written (or not at all) but it seems like he's just doing whatever the hell he wants on screen, which is fine by me. It's not a great performance, probably not even a good one, but I didn't care because it was Johnny fucking Depp.

Overall I can't say this was a good movie or a bad movie...it was just there. To fuck with your mind and make you laugh (provided you are up on all the in jokes in the SMODverse)...oh, and to see that annoying fuck from the "I'm a MAC" commercials a decade ago get his just fucking desserts.

Do you think the tusk was longer than Liam Neeson's dick?

Does Fleetwood Mac do the soundtrack for this movie?
