This season has been quite uninspiring to say the least. Seems like they are just rushing to finish it, almost like they have a board with all the stories they have to tie up and they are checking them off one by one without any concern for how it looks on the show.

Not a fan of the way they are trying to shove Nucky and his people into a bunch of historical events they were never a part of in real life.

Pretty terrible finish to what was a very good series for the most part.

Agree on Nucky being placed into History, but lends itself to a nice spinoff for all this. Al's ascent to power, charlie, Bugsy, etc. Oh wait, thats been done. :D Ok, make up some shit

From what I've read on the net, it appears they were lucky to even get 8 episodes. The show costs as much as Game of Thrones to produce and gets half the ratings. So, the plots are rushed and situations are crowbarred in to get a half-assed resolution to the series. They did a similar thing with Treme.

I didn't know that. Not surprising, just another of one of the many good shows that HBO has screwed up over money. Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk. I'm sure there are others I don't know about. Can't wait to see how they manage to screw up Game of Thrones and don't say they won't, the've done it before with shows just as popular.

Show wraps up Sunday night. Hoping for a solid ending, but as everyone has been saying, this season has been rushed and thrown together.

I know it's not new, but True Detective starts soon.

Newsroom is coming back next on Sunday's at 8:00. I think they are also doing a short season.

I wasn't expecting a whole lot in this episode and it has been a bit of a disappointing season but
I think they wrapped it up pretty neatly and rode off into the sunset. I am ok with the ending
and really didn't see that coming. I really was just so impressed with the casting of the flashbacks.
Nucky, The Commodore, Eli, and Gillian were all done very well in my opinion. It will be remembered
as a good but not great series. Richard Harrow will remain in my top 10 favorite characters in a series
for a long time.

Saw this as well and agree with a lot of what you say T-Bone.

The entire final episode had a very similar vibe to Sopranos.

Totally didn't expect the end but I figured out who the boy was a couple of episodes ago.

Good solid series and only hope they would spin off a Capone series from this...

I am not sure if they have even started shooting this. They'd be lucky to have it ready for this summer.

well there's 8 hours of my life I can't get back. Wish I had the forsight to skip this season like I did with Dexter's final season.

Horrible finale except for the flashback stuff, those were the only interesting parts of the whole season.

Gotta say I am most disgusted with the fact that they artificially inserted Nucky into every real historical event out there yet when it came down to his own life they created some BS poetic death out of thin air. In real life Nucky goes to prison for tax evasion and comes out and is never heard from again.

Was really looking forward to this season most of al cause I wanted to see the rise of the young turks in NYC and the creation of the mafia Commission. Instead they glossed over all the details and rushed through all the key assasinations...and of course somehow made Nucky a big part of it.

Total letdown to a series that had steadily been getting better and better ever since Jimmy Darmady died.

The actors in the flashbacks got the mannerisms of their older counterparts down well. You hardly ever see good flashbacks in a television show. These worked. The actor playing Nucky displayed more emotional depth in his brief time on screen that Buscemi did in five seasons. I wonder if that was intentional or just bad writing because I don't think Buscemi is a bad actor. I liked that last scene with him as a kid underwater reaching for the nickel. Kind of encapsulates the whole character.
