Wonderfully sad movie but also eye opening to what Turing did for not only the British and allies in winning the war, but for technology in general. Unlike "The Theory of Everything", this biopic gets the right tone set early and after a few time shifts that can seem jarring, the story unfolds naturally and the characters are appealing...even if Turing sometimes isn't.

Cumberbatch is becoming this generation's go-to British actor and for good reason. He has a lot of emotion in his eyes, even when his face is stone cold. That's what comes through and makes this a gripping film, even though it's about math, cryptography, and codebreaking...we learn that computers were practically invented by the guy.

it's even more sad what this guy could've accomplished after what he did with Enigma, if hadn't been for homosexuality being illegal, because that law ruined his life. anyway, the film isn't preachy or anything about it. but it sure is poignant.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

Good movie. They play a little fast and loose with the actual history.

But it tells an interesting story with the essence of the facts.

Still hoping to see this before it leaves theaters but I'll likely miss it.
