Funny... I'm just starting to watch season 1 tonight. Just finished episode 1 within the last 5 minutes whilst polishing off a ribeye.

I just did a complete rewatch and the ending can be considered very good from some perspectives.

I'm not really impressed with how this one started. The intrigue level fell flat and the characters are almost aggressively unlikable and drab. I like the cast, there's a chance I could watch the second episode but...it better get going quickly.

usually not one to agree with the WZ artistic take, but the bruteing self loathing angry drinking between all the characters to start, combined with the slow, soft, short talking, as if eveything said is meaningful....way too much.

Still gonna watch, but has a feel of Close Encounters when they all came to meet at the end. Could have started the show like this.
