Surprised no one has seen this one, maybe no one wants to admit they went and saw it. I took the wife last Friday. I have to say that it
was a satisfying date movie. Everyone seems to have polar opposite opinions on Amy Schumer, you either hate her or love her. I find her
pretty amusing myself. The movie wasn't a complete laugh a minute romp, it has a bit of a love story to it and some heart. I surprisingly
found Bill Hader to be a believable leading man and it was a good role for him. LeBron James has a pretty strong supporting role and he
does a pretty good job playing himself. Colin Quinn is funny as her MS stricken father and Dave Attell has a small but funny role as a
homeless man who lives outside her apartment. In my opinion the funniest role went to John Cena and he killed it as Amy's sometime
boyfriend. Laugh out loud moments in both of his scenes.

Anyway, we needed to get out of the house for a few hours and have some good laughs and this movie did the trick for us. I found it to
be a better than average comedy with just the right amount of dirtiness to it. 8) 8) 8) out of 8) 8) 8) 8)

I saw Amy twice as a young stand-up comic. I never saw her as anything this big. Her act was kind of uneven and a work in progress. I have to admit her Comedy Central show is pretty funny and that movie looks like a good rental. Also, she spoke out about Gun Control:

I agree, Spiegs & Goff Show is not good. I really tried but it is a Trainwreck.

Oops - my bad. I saw the title of the thread and just assumed.

Sorry, T-Bone. Back to topic at hand...

Amy Schumer is often very funny but I don't think that the efforts to make her the standard-bearer for all things feminism is good for her career or for feminism.

It does seem that the media has been forcing her down everyone's throats pretty hard this summer.

Her media parodies are instructive but not very funny, her stuff along the lines of "women can be just as coarse and selfish as men!" is funny but not very instructive: no one said you couldn't, they wished you wouldn't.

Based on her other work, I thought/hoped it would contain more raunch. Of course, my wife thought it was too raunchy. So it was mildly disappointing to both of us.

This movie was fucking stupid and not funny at all.

I thought comedians were supposed to be funny?

Saving grace was that I watched the new 'Vacation' right after, and THAT was funny as shit.

Agreed with the first part. I honestly thought this was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I'm definitely not a movie snob. I like a lot of terrible movies.

Well, I see who's not making the Christmas card list. Ignore my PM asking for your address.

Who cares, I would have only cherished it for a lifetime!

Called Tina Fey a Caller Bob, it turns out. That explains that one 30 Rock episode.
