I like how we've subverted a thread about the worst HBO comedy with talk about the best HBO comedy.

I'm going to have to see if Larry Sanders Show is on HBO GO. I don't remember seeing that as an option. Never seen one episode

Edit -- It isn't available :?

It's not. Must be a little too old for them to have kept the rights to. I believe it was on Amazon Prime for a while, not sure whether it still is.

I have the first season and a best-of on DVD. Track it down in one form or another, though; it really is one of the best comedies ever.

God bless, CH. It's my favorite. Got the same DVDs you have, hoping that one day they'd release all of them. Thank Christ that day finally came a few years ago. Garry Shandling is a comedic genius.

The reason it's not on HBO Go or other HBO avenues is due to a lawsuit between Shandling and his former manager, Brad Grey. Grey partnered with Bernie Brillstein, and their names are all over Larry Sanders, The Sopranos, Mr. Show to name a few. To me, it seems Shandling burned his HBO bridge with the Grey lawsuit, and I doubt HBO lends the series to other avenues like Netflix or Hulu, either.

Definitely get the entire boxed set if you can find it. It's awesome and highly re-watchable.

And then there's Hank Kingsley, responsible for possibly my favorite comedy line ever.

My all time favorite comedy line came from the very first episode of Reno:911. Here is the video, scene starts at 3:00 mark, discussion on the "N word" and when/if its appropriate to say in the work place. Punch line delivered by Kerry Kenny-Sliver at around 3:35.

I strenuously object to your thesis.
