We'll have to revisit this in a few years but I think you're wrong. This Golden State team is clearly a notch above those Laker teams. If they win 75+ games this year and the title and Curry wins MVP once again it's going to get pretty crazy.
How are we judging that?

Is Steph Curry the next Jordan?

Yeah, pretty much. Kobe would be the closest in terms of style, so it's not a style comparison, but I predict Steph will be remembered as a better player than Kobe and LeBron when he retires. I don't think he will surpass Jordan necessarily, because that's an incredibly high bar, but I think he's going to win a lot of titles and MVPs. When I said you're wrong I just meant I think you're underestimating how big GS is and how good they really are.

Golden State may be better than the 90s Bulls. They won't be as huge as the 90s Bulls.

It would take an extremely lot. And there's so many different factors that can go into "as huge" that it's not really worth getting into. But I think you're only as sure of that as you are because you grew up a Bulls fan and are no longer an NBA fan.

I'd have to agree with this, but not in a homerish way (sorry, Frank).

Jordan was the perfect storm of hype - ability, era, style of play, mythology (around his competitiveness), career trajectory, retirement, etc. I'm not saying GS wouldn't beat the Bulls or that Stephen Curry isn't going to be an all-time great, but I just don't think he or the Warriors will ever have the mystique factor of the Bulls.

I also don't think Curry will likely be better than James or Kobe. Offensively, you could probably make the case, but he doesn't dominate on both ends. Jordan, Kobe, and Lebron all had great supporting casts, but I don't think they benefitted from their supporting cast as much as Curry does, if that makes sense. Their style of play is perfect for Curry.

From a casual NBA fan perspective. Id put Kobe and Shaq way ahead of the Warriors and probably even if the Warriors win 75 and repeat

If this exact team was doing this in L.A. it might be a different story.

you couldn't pay me to watch this, at this point anything about the 85 Bears is akin to Charlie Brown Christmas or anything else I've seen 8000 times and know by heart.

A lawyer buddy of mine is currently producing yet another Bears documentary that will be out later this year. That one I might watch cause they interviewed Billy Dec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Obama.

It was well done, but completely fucking depressing at certain points.

They're doing it in the SF Bay Area. That's not exactly under the radar. Even when the Warriors were wretched, people gave the fans props for showing up and being enthusiastic (something that's generally seen as quite déclassé in the NBA).

I should have said Lakers. Their games were always "events" going back to Magic era

You know what I mean
