I don't think any era would have made the newspaper angle interesting, Gus was the only character I enjoyed from that weak plot.

Did anyone ever manage to catch the new Blu-ray versions?
The complete 20 disc b-r series, (3645 minutes) is only $118.97 on Amazon.
I have all 5 seasons, but might be worth it for the BTS and commentary stuff.
