This was made in 2006. Playing on the HBO's currently. There might be other versions but I don't remember seeing any.

It's done in English. I thought it was very well done. The women playing Mary is excellent. I don't know. She has a very holy look to her in this film. She captured divinity very well.

I am unaware of this story. Was it a book first or is it an original screenplay?

It was a book first. However, they've been selling action figures for this story well before film was invented. They were ahead of their time on that one.

They end up getting the high roller suite at the Jerusalem Hard Rock hotel and casino, due to a cancelled reservation.
Joseph gets trashed on Red Bull Absolut and blows the family savings at the caribbean stud table, causing Mary to leave him for a Robert Redford looking millionaire.

I was made to watch Jesus of Nazareth and The Ten Commandments as a kid. Those are terrifying and violent movies. They have the nice message at the end of course. But man, as a kid, you just remember the horror of it.

I'm shocked The Nativity Story wasn't done before and made popular like the above films. It's the happy story. This should be played on network TV every year like the other films I mentioned.

Did you like the New and Improved 10C's?
I thought it was pretty decent. Special Effects were sweet.

I loved The Ten Commandments as a kid. Still do. Some great, campy stuff in there.

I agree. I love the movie now. A lot of bad acting in that film by the extras. It's fun to watch that. Heston was great as Moses. The parting of the red sea was great special effects for that time. Still watch it just about every year. I just didn't like it as a kid.

No Doug. I have not seen the new version of 10 C's. Nor will I ever. I don't want to betray Charleston Heston by watching another version. He will always be my Moses. My only Moses. I shall never have another. That is the 11th commandment.
