Watched this for the first time in years just now. Thirty years later the kid with a the flare gun would of gotten a year at RISE before being allowed to return to school and the Jock would get at least 10 days out of school and suspension from wrestling, if not worse.

Bender would have been expelled six months ago.

That janitor would have been immediately fired for admitting he went through lockers without administrative consent.

It was actually a great John Hughes movie. He wrote a lot of great movies. The Breakfast Club has a certain universal theme to it with the cliques and the teen angst that kids feel regardless of what group they belong in the social structure of high school. I think there were certain John Hughes fans who were disappointed that after a series of teen movies he moved on to projects like Home Alone, Baby's Day Out, Curly Sue and the Beethoven movies.

Yeah, Judd Nelson's character really struck me as the "born with the silver spoon in his mouth" type...

One of the best movies ever. A very true recollection of HS in the early 80's. I and some of you lived it. Would not trade those days for now anytime. No cell phones. No facebook. Just real times.
