Just released on HBO. Michael B Jordan and Michael Shannon do a great job. Interesting take on how the outrage movement of Twitter can become censorship. Anyone else watch?

Was drunk and watched the first 20 or so minutes last night and hated it. Seemed cartoonish and lame as hell.

Might try to rewatch but wasn’t a fan at all.

I heard a review of it and the guy said skip the show and reread the book.

I was looking forward to it, but it got savaged in the reviews. I watched some of it, but FF seems spot on. It seemed pretty bad. It seems as if it was better then it would have gotten a theatrical release, since Michael B. Jordan's star is pretty high right now.

I mean the book is still the best. If anything Equilibrium was a better movie version, but this one has some interesting ideas about how our trust in social media, tech companies and surveillance can fuck us.

Was going to check it out sometime later this week. Never got around to reading the book but Shannon and Jordan are some very good
actors. Must be a pretty poor script to have it turn out badly. Looked decent on the previews and the subject matter is pretty timely.

Didn't Bernstein claim the book was the greatest literary piece of our time?

So same difference I guess.

Tim Baffoe is only allowed to form an opinion on something after he heard it first from Dan Bernstein.

Dan Bernstein is only allowed to form an opinion on something after he heard it first from Joel Sheehan

Watched it last night and I thought overall it was pretty interesting. Not sure how it lines up with the book but found it timely and well acted. The end was just ok but worth the 100 minutes I spent on it. In some ways it kind of reminded me of one of my favorite sci fi movies Strange Days with books being the banned media rather than POV video

Sucked. Waste of good actors.
