an interesting HBO produced show on the referendum vote as told from the perspective of a political operative probably all of us had never heard of, Dominic Cummings. More well known characters like Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson are used more for comic relief as Cummings plays the "on the spectrum" genius behind identifying otherwise disenfranchised voters and getting them to the polls.

I like the show. It is a snappy 1.5 hours and has a The Big Short feel.

The most interesting aspect for me isn't so much the vote but the predictability of behavior that is being uncovered by social media analytics. I don't think we will ever get to the point of Minority Report, where we will be tried before a crime is committed. However, I do think this type of technology will be (probably is already) used to focus on those most likely to commit a crime and to preemptively monitor. Maybe in a more cheery future a benevolent Skynet will recognize when we are becoming troubled and try to intercede with positive and healthy options that lead us to an idealized self.
