New original series on Cinemax. Not great but very good. I'm five episodes in so far and I like this a lot. If you like action, martial arts and history, this is for you. Apparently, based on a concept from Bruce Lee - yes, THAT Bruce Lee.
Set in 1878 San Francisco featuring Chinese immigrants who have formed gangs (Tongs) to survive in Chinatown. Also shows how the local police and politicians deal with the Americans, Chinese and Irish as their worlds clash.
It's a good mixture of elements from Deadwood, Sopranos, Banshee and Breaking Bad. Already green lit for a second season.
Watching it, I continually hear Mr. Wu in my head... "San Francisco C*ck S*cker!!".

Once he proves his prowess as a fighter, Sahm becomes a hit man for one of Chinatown's most powerful organized crime families. As he is mentored by the son of the crime family's leader, learning the ins and outs of gang warfare, Al Sahm wins the confidence of brothel madam Ah Toy, eventually revealing to her his true intentions.
