Anyone check this out? Getting good reviews, a anti-war comedy about WWII. George Clooney is in it.

my dad's favorite novel of all time. i read it twice in high school and saw the mike nichols movie. i remembering the book reminding me of funny "mash" and the movie was somber "mash".

i don't know about this one...it needs to retain the humor in order to work.

I love that book. Is Clooney playing Yossarian?

I read a review that said it sucked, and even though it is longer than the original it leaves out entire plot lines like Nately and the Italian whore.

Agreed on both counts. I tried hard to like the movie because I really liked the book. I liked the actors and thought they did an OK job. It struck me that book is just not easy develop into a screenplay/movie and stay true to the original material.

I knew Clooney was too old to play Yossarian.
