One more post for now: I went with Noah because thinking back on his arc (ha!), I can't think of anything he helped reveal about other characters that we didn't already know or suspect from other scenarios earlier in the series.

We know Tony is a virulent racist, but is also a hypocrite because he won't let his racism get in the way of making money.

We already know Meadow is both aware of Tony's racism, and "defiant" enough of it to have non-white boyfriends (Meadow had a Puerto Rican boyfriend when Livia had her first senile walkabout).

And we already know that Tony will do whatever he thinks is best for his children, even if it is to their detriment (foremost: Being a violent criminal who also claims to want to be around for his family).

About the only memorable thing Noah's character contributed to the show was the hilarious contention that he was about to punch Tony's lights out.

It just occurred to me that one could easily argue that Jackie Jr. and his story arc was just a re-telling of the tales of Sean Gismonte and Matthew "Drinkwater" Bevilaqua with just a "out of respect for my fawtha" veneer. And hell, even those two characters were reminiscent of Brendan Filone.

Carm's boyfriend played by David Straitharn belongs on the list. Also, that asshole who wouldn't let Tony out of his real estate contract. I think the same guy stiffed Shelly in [Glengarry Glen Ross.

He was also the evil would-be step-dad in Rookie Of The Year.

Davey Scatino is one of the biggest pieces of shit.

I dont know how to approach this thread because there are great characters that are great because of how much they suck. I just said Scatino, but there are countless. The Sean/Matt tag team of uselessness was perfectly executed.

Patty Leotardo is a sleeper candidate.

Livia was fantastic but trying to CGI her in one last time is maybe the biggest blemish on the entire series.

Livia Soprano is one of the greatest characters in television history!

That first episode of season three with the ridiculous and cartoonish FBI scenes is so stupid.

There were some edits that felt unusual, but that episode gave us one of the greatest musical moments in the show's history: no, not the Peter Gunn/"Every Breath You Take" mashup, but Tony singing "Dirty Work" by Steely Dan while doing some of the worst stage-driving ever filmed.

The best driving scene in any show was in The Shield when Vic and the boys put a hidden camera in Dutch's car and caught him singing "Hungry Like The Wolf".

I can't stand Michael Chiklis. I've never really watched anything he's been in and I know nothing about him. I have an irrational intense dislike of him though, it's weird.

Robert Loggia's Feech LaManna had a pretty brutal run when he was introduced alongside Blundetto, Leotardo, etc. He featured in just a few sub-plots before being unceremoniously shipped back off to prison in the middle of the season.

I've heard that he was supposed to be more of a main antagonist for Tony in the season, but Loggia began having trouble remembering his lines, so the writers had to call an audible and have Tony B start all that crap with New York a season early.

Re-watching the series now and I have to say that the shoehorned Carmela-Furio romance almost killed Season 4. Which is not to say that such a storyline was impossible, but it came completely out of left field, especially for Furio, and was given entirely too much screen time. The OG, made on the other side enforcer who is only loyal to Tony now has a soft spot...for Tony's wife?

Furio was great comic relief, I agree it was ridiculous that fall in love with Carm.

In terms of overall uselessness Georgie has to be high on the list. His only purpose was to get the shit kicked out of him from time to time.
