Help me out on this one. We all know the first Wicked Witch was killed by the house, but the second one... thats where the problem lies. She is killed by water. So, logically, if water exists in Oz, which we know because it was thrown on the witch by Dorothy, and the Sun exists, because we see the Sun and there is light out, and finally, Dorothy is breathing so there is oxygen. Given these three elements, which are air, water and heat, there has to be some form of humidity in the air, correct? Therefore, how could the witches survive?

Because The Wizard allows it. Humans may not be able to understand how or why the Wizard does what he does. But you see evidence all around Oz that the Wizard does exist and is guiding the events and actions of the people of Oz despite scientific evidence that may refute it.

There's a scene in Blind Fury, near the begining when he's visiting Billy's mother for the first time and these thugs walk in dressed like cops. Well wouldn't you know it, Rutger Hauer cuts one guy's hand off, dramatically shown lying on the floor holding the gun, and yet when Rutger knocks him over...? Two hands on the guy. how is that possible? He cut his HAND off.

See that is only a minor movie mistake, an oopsie. This is the central concept of the movie, the ending of the plot for one of the great movies of all time, and it has an extremly major flaw in it.

alright, i'll try to justify this fiction.

the density of water is 62.4 lbs per cubic foot.
humidity is the measurement of water vapor in the air. a cubic foot of water is much denser that a cubic foot of air.
in this sense, the wicked witch in a steam room, might experience some minor irritation in the lungs...but, it's unlikely.

62.4 lbs of water = 28,304.16 grams of water.
in order for there to be 28,304.16 grams of water in the air....
"air" would basically be a gelatinous goop we would have to swim through.
but, there would be no air...so, we'd be dead anyway.

We all know that Mickey is a mouse, and Donald is a duck. Pluto is Mickey's dog. But what about Goofy? What is Goofy? WHAT THE HELL IS GOOFY????

An anthropomorphic dog. Mickey and Donald are also anthropomorphic, while Pluto isn't. He hadn't yet evolved.

Goofy is what Pluto has to look forward to. In both senses

Okay, water killed the wicked witch of the West. But what does there being a sun and oxygen in the land of Oz have to do with that? Maybe it's the mixture of Hydrogen and Oxygen that hurts the witch, not necessarily the gas Oxygen.

I was simply explaining that Sun gives way to heat, which can be a cause of humidity in the air. Doug has made an assumption that the amount of humidity in the air is proportional to the amount of witch melting that occurs. I can take that as a justification for now.

I believe you are referring to Condensation.

What the hell are you talking about? It is just as impossible for a dude to grow back a hand in less then 2 seconds as it is for humidity to not kill a aquaphobic witch.

INCIDENTLY, this could be the central flaw in that godawful movie "Signs" which was full of suckster.
