There’s actually way less rape than I remember. It’s like once every 8 episodes

Prestige TV doesn't have to be good anymore, it just has to mimic the tropes of other Prestige TV shows.

I always got a kick out of the Dick Wolf cross-overs that almost everybody on OZ ended up on Law & Order at least once and usually multiple times.

My wife got sick of us watching L&O and me saying "Hey, that guy was on OZ."

On Oz, everything the White guy tried resulted in, like, ten people being killed. Nice plans.

My wife does that with Supernatural.

Trump is Tweeting "Law & Order" so much I'm starting to think he was on Oz also.

Worst ten:

Anyone from The Facts of Life or that show with Nell Carter where she was the live-in nanny. She was pretty funny, but everyone else sucked. That's about ten right there.

Jesus, how could I forget that. It was in the damn song. Nell was good, the kids were weirdoes, the dad was a crab-ass, the mom skipped out on them for (most likely) Purgatory.

What show had the best supporting characters? I'd say MASH.

Someone on my second ten (mostly because he wasn't Christian) would be Barney Miller.

You just don’t like Poles. It’s finally out in the open to see. The chief was a good man. Can’t remember if the actor died between season 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 but the last episode I saw in recent years was the first after his death.

Also.. this show introduced us to the the Lawrence brothers... maybe Chief lasted longer than I remember, show was on heavy rotation when I was a youth on WFLD I think.

Richard Belzer has been Munch for 20+ years now, and something like 5 or 6 guest roles on other crime series. Pretty amazing.

It’s really funny rewatching it. It could easily be shot as a parody series involving Will Ferrell with just some slight script modifications.

There was one scene that was played as straight that just made me laugh out loud

Reporter: Is there any sign of the escaped inmate Alvarez?

Warden Glynn: No, but we’re closing in on him.

It's not the penal system, it's the penis system.

But OITNB was good. Especially in the earlier seasons.

Hawk, Maverick as the better James Garner character over Rockford?

I liked Rockford but I loved Garner as Maverick. That was a very well written show and had a lot of funny lines in it. In terms of TV westerns, though, I've got to give my vote to Gunsmoke and Matt Dillon. Have you ever listened to John Wayne talk about being offered the roll, turning it down but strongly recommending James Arness for the job? And the other characters in the show were terrific also.

Yes sir. Almost done with it. I think this is my 4th time through it. Did the wire and Americans before this and Sopranos last summer so confident in my Boyd take this time.
