Rewatching the series, starting with the final season and working my way back. The whole thing is on Peacock for free. I don't care what anybody says about it being cheesy. This show is comedy gold. Eddie Haskell rules.

the Eddie Haskel actor recently passed away.

He joined the LAPD after Beaver. Was shot in the line of duty too.

I've never watched more than two minutes of it. This is the first mention of it I've ever heard except in jest.

I like it - especially the early years. The mom always in a dress & pearls is comforting.

The show was also the source of one of the 1st dirty jokes I ever heard.

I can see that, but I couldn't identify with the show. And it was never on in my house. As opposed to Batman, Our Gang and the Stooges.

And the allure of being outside.

Up to s1, ep8. "Beaver"s Crush". Beaver has his first crush. On his teacher. All guys remember their first hot teacher. The world changes. First 7 episodes only ok. Well the whole show is hokey good. Beaver & Wally's friends are great. Can't wait for Larry's nervous mom Mrs Mondelo to appear.

How old is the joke, "Ward, weren't you a little hard on The Beaver last night?"

I had a teacher wink at me once after a few words and I was stuck for a month. I still remember being supercharged after what was a tame exchange.

Eleven years old was a long time ago

You have to be a fan of old timey shows to appreciate it. I love those shows even though I understand it’s not for everyone. Now (early) Andy Griffith and Dick Van Dyke stand the test of time.

I like a lot of them just fin. I hate Eddie Haskell. Guy who played him probably deserved being shot.

What was the dirtiest thing ever said on television?

Ward, I think you’re being a little hard on the Beaver.

They lived in Mayfield. (Fictional).

I remember seeing their house when touring Universal Studios in California along with the Psycho house. I’m sure the exterior of the Cleaver house was in all kinds of shows back then.

Those two I could watch but always loathed leave it to beaver. I just never had any desire to watch but I woukd watch those other two daily. My favorite show of that era ish (it was later) was Carol Burnett. To this day it still cracks me up. It’s hard for me to not laugh whenever I see Harvey Korman.

If Harvey Korman had joined up with the SCTV folks after the Carol Burnett show, it would have been some of the funniest TV ever.
