I really tried to give this all the benefits of the doubt, given it's Bob and he's in a producing capacity with this one as well. But it's a big, huge, flat, pile of shit.

Almost every character is nauseating. There's this thing with actors in shows like these...it's like, they were written to be commercial-level characters. There's no real personality in any of them, even cramming them into this bloated pilot. They just bleat out their lines, like they're at a table read.

The plot is nonexistent, if only to push a narrated, crusty Hank through the episode.

I knew I was in trouble when I caught a glimpse of a copy of Denis Johnson's "Jesus' Son" in one early shot. Unless that prop is followed by a diatribe of how odiously vapid it is...then...I know instead it's supposed to tickle the pretentious fuckwads who have a copy from their college courses.

It was an omen to how lame the writing was going to be.

I'm just glad I can clear my DVR with the recorded 2nd and 3rd episodes. I didn't even want to finish the pilot...but I didn't want to possibly miss anything in case anything got better. It didn't.

Well-written and spot-on.

I swear that half the characters I see on tv are created specifically to become memes. That's how deep and relevant to the story they are.

Do they even do table reads anymore? It seems like they don't as poor as the dialogue is in some of these shows. There's no way they did in Rings of Power they're talking AT each other the whole show.

I turned this off within the first ten minutes. After watching Saul and waiting forever for that to finally wrap up I really don’t want to see Odenkirk in anything for a while.
