I enjoyed the scene where he called a young female sportswriter "Babe" a couple years ago and she and her woke friends stood over him later on and tried to teach the 80-year-old baseball player what a monster he is, and hes like "oh, OK, I'm sorry, I guess, but i'm not sure why". People are definitely looking for additional reasons to hate this guy. He gambled on baseball, including teams he played and managed on, but if that isn't enough by GOD don't forget that time he called the female reporter "Babe!", that's an auto-disqualifier there. It is pretty hilarious how clueless he seems to be about the shit he says and how it affects peoples perception of him. This show has been a nice reminder about how great a player he was. Just let him in already for God's sake.

He will get the Ron Santo treatment. Enshrined after he dies. Probably quickly too.

I respect that opinion. But this documentary teases Pete into thinking maybe there is a path he can take that can get him considered but it all disintegrates because he proved how unworthy he is because he called a young female reporter “babe”.

Everything with Rose has a “but”. I bet on horses but I didn’t bet on sports. I bet on sports but I didn’t bet one baseball. I bet on baseball but I didn’t bet on my team. I bet on my team but I didn’t bet on them to lose.

As JORR said, who knows how many pitchers got their brains beat in on the mound on Friday night because Rose wanted a fresh bullpen for his bet on Saturday. Who knows how many relievers with dragging arms pitched when they normally wouldn’t so Pete could cash a win.

A guy like Rose doesn’t get it. The apology doesn’t get more insincere when it is followed by a “but”. I couldn’t care less if he gets in the HoF or not, but he is not a sympathetic figure.
