Halloween 3

Movie takes place on the west coast. Wouldn't the rest of the country already be dead or whatever by the time the commercial aired at the end of the movie?

i remember reading that real life POWs at the stalag that inspired 'the great escape', weren't too happy about the plot holes.

Your comment reminds me of the major hole in the original Halloween which was supposed to take place in Illinois but was clearly somewhere warm (ie California) when the exteriors of the school were shown along with strange trees and the occasional shot with mountains in the background.

Along the same lines, there were the scenes from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation where they are driving somewhere outside the burbs of Chicago to cut down a tree. Suddenly Illinois is mountainous and filled with giant pine groves and tree hauler trucks.

The Hunt for Red October...

There's a dramatic reveal when ramius uses English. But they had to know he spoke English. The signaled him thru the periscope in Morse code.

I don't think it was "a dramatic reveal". I just think the producers didn't want the audience to read subtitles throughout the movie.

 Just saw this for the first time. These two flaws have grated on me for years. The other thing about Christmas Vacation is when Clark is outside in the daylight hanging lights, the brightness of the sun and the size of the shadows are all wrong for our latitude in late december. And there is snow on fully leafed-out trees.

this reminds me of "shining through" which has an american pretending to have an injury to his neck so he doesn't have to speak german in order to infiltrate them so he would just use basic sign language to get by; but in order to pass for that, he'd have to *understand* german when being spoken to, which he doesn't.

In Caddyshack the match was tied when Rodney says "double or nothing". There was nothing to double at that point. If Danny makes the putt the match ends in a tie and no one owes anything. If Danny misses Dr. Beeper and Judge Smails win $40k. Even if you want to assume they were betting $80k on Danny making the putt - well he didn't as far as the rules of golf say. The ball had clearly come to rest for 10 seconds.

Lethal weapon. Martin Riggs is shot with a shotgun while interrogating a hooker. Roger runs over to check on him and sees he's wearing his vest.

Why is a suicidal cop who "isn't afraid of it" (death) wearing a vest?

Minority Report - after Anderton is red balled and goes on the run from Pre Crime, he has his eyes replaced to avoid being scanned and located. After this surgery, he is able to gain access to Pre Crime and the Pre Cogs using one of his actual eyes. How/Why would his biometrics still have access to the building, let alone likely one of the most restricted areas if he is a fugitive?

Die Hard. When Holly discovers what Hans is really after in the vault she condescends to him "after all your speeches, you're nothing more than a common thief" and even Hans replies "I'm an exceptional thief...and since I'm moving up to kidnapping you should be more polite" and both of them act like Hans hasn't iced multiple people, including Holly's boss and co-worker, that night.

interstellar - they made references to wars having occurred over dwindling food supplies... how do those wars just end when the food issue is only getting worse? because other than the dust storms the family at the beginning was living peacefully.
also, when his daughter waits 70 some years to see her dad again she immediately sends him away telling him to find Brand? Wasnt that already a priority for the NASA team to find Brand? i can comment on all of the time travel aspects but in general time travel movies twist my brain into a pretzel when i think about them

In honor of Hackman's passing I recently watched The French Connection, which for some reason I had never seen before.

Hopefully without giving away plot to the perhaps one other person who has not seen the movie, at one point a car is impounded and completely taken apart rather haphazardly. Yet moments later it is released, fully reassembled, back to its owner. Made no sense to me, and apparently not to others, either.

A similar thing happens in Christine.

I don't think it was "a dramatic reveal". I just think the producers didn't want the audience to read subtitles throughout the movie.

They chose to do the switch on the word "armageddon" which is the same in English and Russian.

To be fair we're talking two different scenes here. Doc is referring to when ramius is speaking with political officer Putin, and Putin is reading from a text that his wife had underlined a hindu passage quoted by Oppenheimer whereas I'm referring to the moment when the Americans from the Dallas board the Red October and ramius and Ryan spar in each other's languages.
