I thought there was already another thread about this movie, but I couldn't find it, so please forgive if it is multiple, but I saw this movie over the weekend. I went kicking and screaming because I knew it was going to be filled with suck but the wife wanted to see it.

I have to be honest and say that it was actually entertaining. It was long but I didn't really "feel" like it was long through the whole thing.

It was like a combination of The Day After Tomorrow, Armageddon and Titanic. Titanic might be a bit of a stretch, but without giving away any of the movie, if you see it there are certain elements of the movie that reminded me of some scenes in Titanic.

The plot wasn't as hokie as I thought it would be. Cusack was tolerable and mildly entertaining and I have to say that I came away glad I watched it.

I don't want to partake in any disaster movie in which John Cusack survives....

I won't give away the ending but I understand what you are saying!

If we could kill off him and his sister (movie wise) it would be a much better place.

the question is, was the wife full of suck in appreciation of your indulgence afterwards

Well, Double D never mentioned if his wife enjoyed the flick. Maybe because she didn't see much of it. Perhaps Dave was privvy to the old Popcorn Trick...

(And yes, I know the circumstances of her health, but I bet Dave laughed, so eff the rest of you.)

Here's reason enough to loathe John Cusack aka Mr Lifelong Cub Fan:

Oh I did laugh. There was no "appreciation" reciprocation after the fact.

The wife wanting to see "it" had nothing to do with little Dave unfortunately.... :x
