Anybody see this crap on FX last night?

Seeing as it focused on fantasy football - I felt I had to watch it.

PURE GARBAGE.... They showed the draft board and Jacob Hester was a 6th round pick. Then about 5 minutes later, some guy comes out of a room (after boning a hostess) and proclaims: I'll take Aaron Rodgers.

Show me the draft where Jacob Hester goes before Aaron Rodgers, and I'll show you an imaginary Fantasy Football draft.

This show sucked btw..... KEEP IT.

Wasn't surprised to hear Harry TinyWits say it was an 'awesome show' about a fantasy football league in Chicago.

I just can't believe Leslie Bibb was in it giving her husband the hoochie finger.

Image

Then again, she was also listed as 'special appearance' - so she's probably just some bait for perverts. I'd rather check her out in Iron Man 2

I hate like hell to admit it Beef, but this show is kinda growing on me.

Admittedly, some of the fantasy football info is way off, but if you are able to overlook that, there are some pretty funny moments each episode.

The dorky guy cheating on his friends with another fantasy football league is kind of funny and the kid picking up her poo was also pretty funny.

But I'm easy and looking for things to laugh at these days, so this fills the void.

I like it also. Some of the charactors hit close to home.

FX may be the best network on television right now: Always Sunny, Rescue Me, The League, Nip/Tuck ... all good stuff.

Mel, I'm with ya.

FX brings it. You forgot Sons of Anarchy as well.

I haven't seen that yet, but heard good things. I'll have to add it to the DVR lineup.

While we're on the subject, I find Hogan's Heroes to be a less than accurate retelling of the daily rigors of life in a Nazi POW camp.

Yeah but Bob Crane sure did use that show to his advantage. Check out "Auto Focus" with Greg Kinear and Willem Dafoe, Mr. Crane was a busy busy man.

I can't speak for BEEF, but I also thought the first show was lacking.

However, I have tivo'd all episodes, so I'll review the past few episodes.

This show is good but not great. Doesn't seem it has too much staying power but the show captures the way guys talk to other guys.

I agree... it's lacking. It has it moments, but overall it's marginal entertainment.

There just aren't that many great comedies on tv anymore. Two and a half Men, 30 Rock and It's Always Sunny are about the only ones worth anything.

In a setting of marginal comedies, this one is ok.

Modern Family is the best comedy on TV for me right now.

Wow...I stand corrected. Never knew. I thought the writers were combining Devin Hester with Brandon Jacobs and creating a fictional player.

Doesn't Jacob Hester play for the Chargers, he was the running back on the LSU national championship team that had 2 losses and beat Ohio State. I just read that this was in another post.

I have seen the show, like somebody posted a good show, not great.

This is Jacob Hester.

He's a cracker fullback from LSU.

He had no business being on a draft board where he was, especially seeing as he plays on the Chargers, where he's an afterthought after an afterthought.

Last night's episode of this show was the best of the season. The scene in the Chinese restaraunt was absolutely fucking hilarious. The Chinese "slow" guy stole the scene.

The humping of the trophy at the beginning was also pretty damn funny.

This show is solid and getting better. I really really hope they bring it back for another season next year.

Next week is the season finale.

3 Penis Wine - that's good shit.

I don't know if you guys caught the finale of The League last night, but it was the funniest half hour of television I have seen this year. It surpassed It's Always Sunny's season finale.

I really hope that they bring this show back because it is one of the funniest shows on television.

I actually hurt myself laughing at the season finale. They need to give them at least 12 episodes next year.

The dance that Taco did when they were singing the Shiva song about made me piss my pants.

Taco making deodorant even funnier.

The testicle check was probably some of the funniest shit ever on a sitcom.

"now just so I have this straight, you will be fondling my left testicle and then my right".

Outstanding.

I have never been so glad to have been so wrong about a show - I thought this would blow.

"The League"

FX has ordered a second season of its freshman comedy series "The League," picking up 13 more episodes.

Season 2 will debut in late-summer 2010, and its first-season finale airs Thursday night. Through five episodes, "League" is averaging a modest 1 million viewers an episode and 860,000 adults 18-49.

"We've been very pleased with the creative and ratings trajectory of 'The League' and believe it's an excellent fit with our comedy brand," FX executive vp programming Nick Grad said. "Jackie and Jeff Schaffer are incredibly talented producers, and the ensemble cast is fantastic. The performance of the show this season is reminiscent of 'Sunny' in its first season."

I watched the whole season, and I'm still not sure if I like it or not. Last night was probably the funniest though.

Dave- How fucking funny was Sunny last night? Or should I say Flip, Flip, Flip-adelphia.

Finale was great, I actually envy the friendship those guys have, which says a lot for the writing on the show and says not so much for my friend rolodex.

Sunny was fantastic as well, FX keep up the good work.

It was good JB but I thought The League finale was just a tad better.

Sunny had nowhere to go but down after this season - every episode has been fall out of the chair funny. I don't think there are two shows back to back that bring the funny like these two do.

I can hardly wait until next September. Both shows will be going with a 13 show format next year, hopefully on the same night.

FX is probably one of the most solid cable channels out there right now.
