The show LIFE on Discovery. Basically close up, high speed camera shots of all kinds of insects, lizards, fish, etc. I have watched this channel for years and this is something I would usually watch, but the condescending tone of having Oprah explain this to me like I was in 3rd grade is just insulting and plays to the lowest common denominator like ABC's 'dancing with has beens!'

To top it all off, they had a launch party for this premiere??

Did Discovery as a channel just "Jump the Shark"?

Sounds like something you have to be in the correct "state" of mind to truly enjoy and understand.

I don't want to listen to Oprah tell me about anything. The "smart" channels, as we used to call them, are but a shell of their former selves. Much like Food Network, most of the programs now blow.
They were all better ten years ago.

yeah, its pretty tough to stomach with Oprah. But, even without her, most of the footage is prety blah anyway. They are billing it as a sequal to Planet Earth and its nowhere near as good as that.
