The next movie in the line of horror movie shot from a point of view perspective. There have been mixed results since The Blair Witch Project. I liked Paranormal Activity last summer but Quarantine was nothing special.

It looks like this could be good. As with all good exorcism movies, the story is not about the object of the exorcism but what lurks in the heart of the one who performs the exorcism. At least that's how it appears from the story line. If it gets into the story of devils or why the possession occurred, the movie usually falls flat.

Yeah, ive been hyping on this flick for a while now. If you like the first person horror view, def check out "Rec". It was the film Quarantine ripped off. Spanish made, and the chick is very nice. Hopefully this saves the enigmatic career of Eli Roth. I think Ive posted the trailer here before, but here it is again...

All the other reviews I have read have said the exact opposite. The only universal seems to be that, like Paranormal Activity, the conclusion was not satisfying.

Everyone seems to think the conclusion was predictable or played. I'll make my guess that the steal from The Exorcist and it is the exorcist who becomes "possessed" in the end with the father killing him and he killing the father simultaneously, thus allowing the girl to be free while not maintaining ambiguity over whether she was possessed or mentally unstable.

Everyone's template for possession films is The Exorcist. Im personally gonna try and stay away from that connotation when viewing this movie.

They also said it was kind of like Rosemary's Baby.

I'll give it a good ending in that light. Fundamentalist father gets daughter knocked up by satanic cult in order to get the doubting preacher and his cameras down there to prove to the world that the devil and thus God exists.

A real friend wouldn't even let them say it without throwing hammers.

This movie fucking blew. I'm glad I got the matinee price. And an extra fuck you goes out the the Streets of Woodfield Theatre for putting this movie, with a sort of quiet soundtrack, right next to the IMAX theatre showing Avatar. There were points where the volume was so high next door, it drowned out this movie.

Anywhoo, this movie plods along, it didn't get interesting until about an hour or so in. I'm not going to give anything away, but this really could have been about 45 minutes long(short intro/climax), and been ok.

W_Z style

    out of :D :D :D :D
