For those of you with kids, don't bother. Took my daughter to this on Saturday and it was too deep for kids for sure. The novelty of the dancing penguin wore off quickly and she was looking to do anything but watch the movie within 30 minutes.

I saw it for free so it was not as painfull for me to sit through it with a disinterested child. It looked kind of cool in the beginning, but I had no need to see a pop musical disguising itself as a kid's movie. Nicole Kidman with a 60's hipster accent was not believable. Brittany Murphy has no talent in so many fields.

Also ENOUGH of Robin Williams already. I get it. He can do some odd voices and has manic energy. There are innumberable out of work actors who could do the voice overs in these cartoons equally well.

I was underwhelmed with it and thought it delved into the sexual mating aspects a little too deeply for the kids. Especially when the penguins were sliding all over each other and ending up in different "positions". I thought that was a bit weird.

My kids weren't too impressed either since they haven't brought it up and usually they are talking about movies for weeks after they see it. I was hearing about Cars for a couple months.

I hear what you say Doc. I believe even Prince would say choosing his music for a kids movie would be inappropriate. The overall song list was more suggestive than necessary.

Dr ken: You hit it on the head. My daughter is still talking about Curious George even though she saw it in the summer. All the deep meanings on oil rigs and fishing industries were disturbing even for me.
