"Sweeps" month is fast approaching in television, where TV stations will pull out all the stops to try and get you & me to watch.

A year ago, CBS2 reunited veteran anchors Bill Kurtis & Walter Jacobson for what was supposed to be a one-night only reunion as anchors of "THE TEN O'CLOCK NEWS". Now, Bill & Walter are back behind the anchor desk, anchoring the CBS-owned station's 6p newscast Monday-Friday.

Now, according to Vocalo.org's Rob Feder, FOX32's about to reunite another anchor team, also for one night only. The FOX/News Corp.-owned outlet will reunite Bob Sirott & Marianne Murciano for the 9p newscast Friday, November 5th. Marianne will actually sit in for Bob's current co-anchor on the station's 9p weeknight newscast that night, the ageless Robin Robinson.

Back in the mid to late '90s, Marianne was Bob's co-anchor on FOX32's own morning news/talk show "FOX Thing in the Morning". They not only co-anchored the show from 1994-2000, but the two got married during their 6-year run. Marianne was on maternity leave in May that year when she gave birth to the couple's first daughter Daniela. That was around the time Tamron Hall, now an MSNBC anchor, replaced Marianne on "FOX Thing" and it was the beginning of the end. When she returned to WFLD from maternity leave, Murciano was off "FOX Thing", and left the station in March 2001 after Sirott was sent packing in September 2000.

Sirott rejoined WFLD as principal news anchor in July after he was passed over for Rob Stafford as NBC5's 10p anchor following the retirement of Warner Saunders. Although the November 5th newscast will be the first for Bob & Marianne in a decade, the couple do maintain a presence on radio as hosts of the "Sunday Night Radio Special" at 10p Sundays on WGN Radio 720.

"We never got to do a last show together, so this will be our chance," Marianne said in anticipation of her one-night reunion with Bob. "It'll be fun for a night, but after that---Robin can have him!"

I hope Marianne still has her bouts of red-ass.

I remember she was interviewing someone from a hanger factory on the morning show back in the day when she just suddenly snapped and said "this is just stupid. I'm ending this now" and stopped the interview while they abruptly cut away to a commercial. It was great.

It's adorable when second time marriers pretend to be high school sweethearts for the cameras

Bob Sirott and Carrie Cochrane?

Speaking of Fox, why is Robin Robinson still employed there? They've just about whacked every other person that started there. Hell, this is Sirott's second lap around the track there isn't it?

I love it when two people leave their marriages for each other. After about 2 years of marriage, they realize they're married to a cheater.

They are married, Krazy, just like Don Wade & Roma on WLS 890 AM. Factually speaking, Bob & Marianne haven't anchored a TV newscast together in a decade...

You know, I used to think Don Wade & Roma were three people, as in "Don, Wade & Roma". Why don't they ever use her last name? Does she even have one, or is she like Cher and too good to be her daddy's little girl?

You are correct on both parts, Beef. Robin Robinson's been at FOX32 since they became one of the FOX Television Stations and started their news department in 1987. Needless to say, Robin hasn't aged one bit since she joined WFLD over 20 years ago.

As for Bob Sirott, there's a reason why he's at FOX for a second time. When he was at NBC5, he was supposed to be principal news anchor once Warner Saunders retired this past May under terms of his most recent contract. One problem. The corporate suits at NBC Universal in New York thumbed their noses at increasing costs for the 10p newscast and Sirott ended up getting passed over in favor of Rob Stafford. Interestingly enough, Stafford was actually one of those cuts at NBC News on the national scale. He started filling in on weekends at NBC5 a couple years ago, and the rest is history.

I'm more of a Dick Johnson fan myself.

Dick Johnson has been anchoring NBC5's weekend evening news solo Sundays @ 5p and after "Sunday Night Football", just so you know. Lisa Parker has been doing the same on NBC5's weekend evening news Saturdays @ 5 & 10p. Pretty soon, Kim Vatis will be anchoring NBC's local version of the "Today Show" on weekend mornings Saturdays 6 & 9a, as well as Sundays 6 & 8a, starting November 7th.

HE IS! Very perceptive. I saw him at a function and he came off as very pompous.
