Just saw this for the first time. Highly recommended. One of the best wars movies ever made. And based on a true story. Very powerful.

I thought the movie was pretty good, but ironically found the book to be pretty boring.

Great movie, but hard to recommend anything with Mel Hitler in it these days.

Are you kidding. Do you really judge art by the artist?

Would you watch an excellent documentary if it was produced by bin Laden?

So all of Mel Gibson's films are bad now because he is a bad guy?

All of them except Bird On A Wire.

Aren't they bad because they are bad?

Lethal Weapon 5 kicks ass though.

No, he made some good movies. Braveheart, The Patriot, Lethal Weapon were all entertaining.

yes and I'll watch Wall Street/Platton even though Charlie Sheen is an abuser of people and substances, I'll watch Rosemary's Baby even though Roman Polanski drugged a teenager and hit her in the cakes, I'll watch Woody Allen and Morgan Freeman movies even though they abused their position of trust and schtuped their adoptive daughters...

I will watch Charlton Heston movies even though he was a gun advocate.

No, I clearly said it was a great movie, but that I wouldn't recommend anything by Mel Hitler these days. I don't care how good a movie is, I refuse to support or recommend anything made by someone who hates jews.

A few days ago you made it known you didn't much care for the Irish. If you were to replace Jews with Irish in all Mel's rants would that be okay or not?

I have got to get into this Tide cooking thing. Seems about as popular as a Paula Dean Baked French Toast Casserole. Any other special ingredients? Is this a baked or fried product? FTR if it has mayo I gotta pass. A man has to stand by his principles.

Hank, I love you...but I have to tell you the same thing I tell everyone else. You can't argue the validity of subjective statements. I can't argue that the movies aren't critically acclaimed...I can state that I don't think they're very good...and can back it up with my own reasoning.

I don't mind Braveheart overall, but that is hardly a testament to Mel Gibson's acting, which I've always felt is subpar. Lethal Weapon (all of them) are just basic action movies...with nothing exceptional about them. I didn't like The Patriot at all, when Heath Ledger was alive or dead.

What do you think about What Women Want and Signs? :P

We can discuss this in detail if you show up to the Bears viewing event.

Payback was a great movie

Lethal Weapon is a pretty interesting examination of the domestic effects of a permanent war culture.

I would also remake A Deliberate Stranger: The Ted Bundy Story with the Irish replacing the women.
