They will be offered for free for a short time on Apple TV+, but it sucks for people who don't have access as they will still be out of luck since they're not on network TV.

https://wgntv.com/news/trending/good-gr ... ger-on-tv/

Quote:
You won’t find the classic Charlie Brown holiday specials on broadcast television this year.

The Peanuts animated classics, including “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” will stream on AppleTV+ through a deal with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions, making Apple “the home for all things Peanuts,” according to a news release.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” are also included.

The holiday specials have aired annually on broadcast television since the 1960s.

Worry not, though. Families can still watch the holiday specials for free during limited windows around each holiday, Apple said.

“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” Halloween special will be available for free on the Apple TV+ service from Oct. 30 until Nov. 1.

“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will be available for free from Nov. 25 until Nov. 27 on the platform, and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be available to customers for free from Dec. 11 until Dec. 13.

For more information about Apple TV+, visit apple.com/tvpr and offers.appletvapp.apple/ and see the full list of supported devices.

Poor kids who have to watch network television will have to learn in other ways that people are horrible and will treat you like garbage for no real reason.

This is really no big deal.

Yet another reason for the “faux outrage” crowd to fish for likes on social media.

Saw it with my dad. First movie I saw at a theater.

It's a great memory of my late father but I guess Frank doesn't care about that

Well, that was a nice little tradition we had going. If there's ever another Macy's Thanksgiving Day's Parade, maybe Crackle can pick it up.

Heard this news yesterday, and immediately thought of WZ. He used to post the schedule every year.

Remember when we had like 30 channels and they put all the best content on. Now we have 400 channels and 50 streaming services with mostly garbage on them.

I'm kind of offended by the apparent lack of adult supervision. Linus spends a whole night in a pumpkin patch while Charlie Brown collects rocks from spiteful neighbors, Charlie Brown & his dog serve friends popcorn, toast and sundaes for Thanksgiving, and the students are left to fend for themselves in developing a Christmas play. They're lucky the admittedly depressed Charlie Brown didn't come back from the tree farm with an AK-47.

Charlie Brown specials to air on TV, after all, in PBS deal

Arts Nov 18, 2020 3:35 PM EST
NEW YORK — The “Great Pumpkin” never showed on broadcast television this year, but after a deal with PBS, the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas specials will return to the air.

Last month, Apple TV+ became the new home to the beloved Peanuts holiday specials. That sparked an outcry from viewers who were accustomed to annually tuning in on network TV. Apple offered each special to stream for free for a handful of days, but that didn’t stop online petitions from gathering hundreds of thousands of signatures.

On Wednesday, Apple bowed to the backlash, announcing it had teamed up with PBS for ad-free broadcasts of “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (on Nov. 22) and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (on Dec. 13).

Both specials will also be available for free during three-day windows on Apple TV+ (Nov. 25-27 for “Thanksgiving” and Dec. 11-13 for “Christmas.”) For subscribers, the specials will be available beginning Nov. 18 and Dec. 4, respectively.

Bonus points for choosing PBS and making sure that for 2 nights a year that people remember that PBS exists.

it's just their ploy to get people to go in on PBS+ and PBSMax. Those two streaming services will be the only way you can watch Ken Burns' The Avengers and the 16-part miniseries Arete: The Life & Longevity of the Hippocratic Oath.

Does anyone actually like the clinically depressed Charlie Brown or his gaggle of selfish, backstabbing friends? Even Snoopy is a narcissistic sociopath, though at least he has a sense of humor.

Yes. Too many kids shows tell kids that things will be alright when that is a lie.

Well, I guess I do prefer Charlie Brown's nihilistic dystopian vision to the implied pedophilia of Curious George or the phallus-saturated fantasies of Sponge Bob Square Pants.
