This ABC show is like "The Wonder Years" except it's about a 1000 times funnier.
Last night's episode had the little brother wanting to be a "funny guy". He had his
Grandfather (George Segal) sit and listen to his Andrew Dice Clay routine.

It never fails to get a few laughs from me and the cast is excellent. The little kid is actually
from Park Ridge and still lives there when he's not filming!

I watched two episodes of this show when it first premiered, and I just couldn't get into it. I'm a Jeff Garlin fan, but his character was pretty much just a yelling idiot for every single line of his. It just wasn't funny.

It's mildly amusing. My family likes it.

Would hit that daughter.

This show is pretty good. It isn't great but it is good.

Anyone over the age of 30 should enjoy it for nostalgia purposes.

Watch it with the fiancée. Some of the 80s references are pretty good.

Tried watching the first episode. Turned it off after 10 minutes of no laughter and realizing that its another show where the cast yells at each other the whole time and they try to pass that off as comedy.

That isn't the show at all, but hey, at least you gave it 10 minutes!

I got pretty much the same take as Shakes, and I went through two episodes.

My time tested rule of thumb is that if a brand new sit com can't manage to be funny in the first 5 or 10 minutes then that is a huge indication that its never going to be funny.

Some of my favorite sitcoms of all time were pretty bad the first episode.

you should've used my method for judging new sit coms. They get a 10 minute trial and if they don't make me laugh I pull the plug. I figure if the writers can't come up with a good joke to hook the audience right away that's a pretty good indication that they are a bunch of no talent hacks.

Most pilots of any show are normally bad.

Well, the show isn't about the cast yelling at each other.

The first Seinfeld episode was brutal. The show almost didn't see a second season.

Yes, great example. The Pilot is probably the worst episode in the series.

The last few seasons of Seinfeld were all worse than the pilot..or just about any show on tv. Another show where people confuse yelling for comedy.

This is a good assessment

If this was years ago, it would be a show I watch, but with so many options, they level has been raised.

This is crazy talk. Merv Griffin Show, Andrea Doria, Kenny Roger's Roaster, Van Buren Boys, Summer of George, Frogger, Little Kicks, etc. - all in the last 2 seasons.

Serenity now!

I've been watching some of these reruns and this may be the only current airing "old-school" sitcom that I find funny... it is pretty consistently funny with the right amount of sappiness at the end.

This is one of the shows we watch together as a family. My wife and I occasionally get a chuckle out of the 80s references. The show itself is
pretty silly and often times misses the mark but overall it is ok for a sitcom. I had heard somewhere that someone was developing a show kind
of like it based on the 90s.

Looks like the crew succeeded in ousting Jeff Garlin over his "verbal harassment" (sounds like they didn't like hearing the word vagina). Imagine how triggered they would have been on the set of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I'm not a huge fan of Garlin away from CYE, but I hope these idiots are happy in the unemployment line.

Its a nice paycheck but my god has that show gone from good and enjoyable to an absolute steaming pile. He is better off as a free agent.

People actually watch network television for something other than sporting events?

They shouldn’t have fired writers Matt Mira and Andy Secunda.

I’m a fan.

And I’ve never seen an episode. Just heard them discuss the writers room.

It sounds like he cursed some people out in the process as well. That show has been on the air for a while, and my guess is people got tired of dealing with it. It's 2021. If you want to shout "vagina," curse people out in the workplace, and keep your job, you better be absolutely indispensable.
