Less Maggie more Sloane would be a good idea.

Yeah, we pretty much fell asleep two episodes ago. Last week's was almost intense at the end, but I didn't feel much for it.

The way they dropped the "tape" story line was idiotic.

Daniel from last week was an obvious plot device.

I wish I didn't know that the Salami plot wasn't gonna work out because that'd be cool.

Aaron Sorkin writes women worse than Lena Dunham writes men.

So the reason the righteous news people got the story wrong about Genoa was because of the conservative producer doctored tape.

I have enjoyed the season for the most part but what I don't completely get is all the jumping
around with the timeline. I don't remember them doing that in the first season. Maybe it is
just due to the Genoa storyline but it is kind of confusing to me. I am not quite as high on
the show as I was during the first season and with Boardwalk Empire coming back soon this
will certainly take a bit of a backseat.

That was an excellent episode last night. Best one they've done.

I think it's an exaggeration that newsrooms are like that. If you look at CNN, they don't investigate shit. They report what other people have investigated. Or they take shootings, bombings, celebrity racists and girls being kidnapped and run with that coverage for weeks.

It's easy and doesn't require much work by anybody in the CNN newsroom.

I'd have to agree with you here. I thought it was an excellent episode after kind of a jumbled handful
of episodes prior to that.

WTF?

Season is over? I went to DVR tonight's episode and it's a movie in the slot. This was only a 5 episode season?

That makes no sense. They shot these episodes months ago. It's not like they worked this week to shoot it. Why not run it? Why would labor day matter for canned episodes?

I dunno.

Maybe HBO figures viewing wouldn't be as high as they would be on a normal Sunday.

One of the Mr. Destructo guys (not Jeb) liveblogging the Emmys:

Quote:
If the right people win, it will be for the wrong thing. Jeff Daniels, a fine actor, will win for something called The Newsroom, which is a 5th-grade civics project from about 1995, made by a kid who was told Bill Clinton is a good idea.

haha boom

Coming back this fall for a third and final season...

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/aaron-sorkins-newsroom-renewed-third-669973

I'm happy we will get a third season, but I'm a bit miffed this will be the end of the line...I was just thinking the other day that Sorkin was trolling us all and really only meant to do two seasons, as the way the whole "hey let's propose to her out of the blue" seemed like more of a series finale device than a season finale...

I believe this came back last night. Anyone happen to catch it? I'll likely watch it tonight.

I watched it...enjoyed it enough...pretty sure I'm going to start yelling "Suck it, Euripides" to people on the road who piss me off...

I rewatched the season finale from last year and followed that up with the new one from this past Sunday.
The show is interesting enough. What I don't like is that so much dialogue is shoehorned into each scene
that it doesn't even seem natural sometimes. It is like all the characters are on coke or speed. It's only
a 6 episode final season so it will be a quick wrapup to the series, which is fine I guess.

That was an excellent season opener. Loved the ending.

3 Big things happen at once. Hostile takeover of the company figured out. Producer is informed that he has committed espionage. And the Boston bomber is in the boat.

Only 6 episodes by the way. What the hell is that?

the first few episodes of the first season was brutal. the back and forth was so fast it was hard to follow. nobody talks like that

Yeah. Sorkin likes to show off with the witty rat-a-tat dialogue. It annoyed me in the first season. Now I'm fine with it.

I loved that moment when Mac realized what his producer did and then said "You induced him to commit a crime. YOU CONSPIRED TO COMMIT ESPIONAGE."

That scene cracked me up for some reason. Just the way he delivered it.

Should have started with Sports Night. This dialogue would seem slow at times :-)

I feel bad for not watching this show before this season. It's probably the funniest thing on HBO in years, nearly reaching the fun bad heights of Studio 60.

Seriously, every character reminds me of John Ennis from Mr. Show where he ends with "SO DON'T TELL ME THAT I'M FAT!"
