I thought it was a pretty decent finale. Having read spoilers and this thread some of the events like the Jon Snow storyline were pretty clear.
I was left wanting more and will be back for the next season. Looking forward to some new shows next week.

The Brotherhood without Banners has Thoros of Myr. He is a red priest, serving the Lord of Light. Melisandre is a red priest, also serving the Lord of Light. They both have the ability, though Melisandre has yet to use it.

Prince Doran did not sanction the murder. The past several episodes have all made it extremely clear that Ellaria and the Sand Snakes are operating on their own.

Melisandre resurrects no one in the books. She never even meets Thoros in the books. Both the books and the show establish that the Lord of Light bestows the gift, meaning that Thoros and Melisandre have the ability. Melisandre is appalled as to how many times Thoros has used it on Beric, and that he may not be important enough. Nothing to do with the books.

The Myrcella stuff does not happen in the books.

At this point, the show is mostly running on storylines that have diverged from the book. The Jon Snow storyline is the only one that remains mostly similar to the books, and even then...book readers know no more than people that have only watched the show. In many storylines, the show has 'advanced' past where the books are. In others, much more slowly.

there would be no point in the storyline that lyanna stark was snow's mother since they'd both be dead now. that's the first thing that i'd use as a pretty good indication that he will be back. all that would have been for nothing.

bran, sansa, arya, and rickon are all still alive, carrying on the stark name. what lyanna stark and raegar carry on is the dragon bloodline that still has a male heir, which would be jon snow. why would there be any talk of this if he was going to kill the character off? that would end the bloodline, and there'd be no point for even establishing it as a plausible setup (which it is).

i didn't say you were an ignorant prick. i'm saying it really would be a waste of a good storyline--the red wedding was tragic but it didn't kill everyone and bran in some ways matters more than robb did.
