You didn't answer my question ... What's the last thing the book covers ? Let's hear some of YOUR predictions on what's going to happen .

I did just predict what will happen.

Just from casually reading reddit and a few ASOIAF fan sites the last couple days, I've become aware that Stannis was like some paragon of virtue character for many people. This really astounds me since I tend to see him as more of a villain than anyone not named Frey or Bolton. Even if Stannis is dead, I could see him being resurrected by the Others, assuming Brienne just left his body in the forest. Jon will be back. Mel just came back to the Wall. The Dorne storyline, while giving us some sex, was the dumbest plot ever hatched by the show thus far.

Dumb. The guy doing the raping is a villain and one of the most vile people in the entire story. This stuff happens to make people hate the villain even more. The fact that HBO was getting attacked for this is just silly.

Quote:
Outcry Over Rape in Game of Thrones Causes Creators to Change Their Approach for Season 6

We were aware ahead of time that it was going to be disturbing but we did not expect there would be people in Congress talking about it,” Game of Thrones director Jeremy Podeswa said of his controversial Season 5 episode “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken.” But everyone was talking about Sansa Stark’s violent wedding night and whether the brutal world of Game of Thrones had finally gone too far. According to Podeswa, creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff are listening and have changed their approach accordingly.

“It was a difficult and brutal scene and we knew it was going to be challenging for the audience,” Podeswa said on Friday at a breakfast briefing at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney. “But it was very important to us in the execution that it would not be exploited in any way. To be fair, the criticism was the notion of it, not the execution. It was handled as sensitively as it could possibly be; you hardly see anything.” While Podeswa is right that the scene with Sansa was positively demure compared to some sexual violence that has appeared on Game of Thrones, he’s incorrect that the depiction of the scene was above reproach. For a breakdown of some of the aspects this author objected to, you can go here.

But while Podeswa defends his direction of Sansa’s wedding night, he also says Weiss and Benioff “were responsive to the discussion and there were a couple of things that changed as a result . . . It is important that (the producers) not self-censor. The show depicts a brutal world where horrible things happen. They did not want to be too overly influenced by that (criticism) but they did absorb and take it in and it did influence them in a way.” It should be noted that Season 5 was far from the first time the show’s depiction of sexual assault has come under fire.

Without a new book from George R.R. Martin to guide us as to what to expect in Season 6, it’s pretty difficult to extrapolate how Weiss and Benioff’s reaction will be applied to next season’s plot. But a leaked page from next season’s script has some fans worried that a different female protagonist is in for a traumatic sexual assault scene next year. Then again, if Weiss, Benioff, and Podeswa are listening, maybe we’ll all be spared a repeat of the discussions surrounding seasons four and five. Podeswa is one of five (all male) directors taking the helm next year.

Either way, it is interesting to hear even this level of noncommittal discussion on the subject from a member of the Game of Thrones creative team. In the past, Weiss, Benioff, and their directors and producers have kept fairly mum when it comes to the topic of sexual assault. Podeswa said, “I welcomed the discussion about the depiction of violence on television and how it could be used as a narrative tool sometimes and the questionable nature of that.” We’ll see how that discussion plays out in Season 6 when Game of Thrones returns in April 2016.

That's the point.

Should rape feel fantastic and great? I'd venture a guess that watching it on a TV show could be pretty uncomfortable.

He didn't rape her in the books, and he already cut off Theon's dick. We know he's a bad guy. That rape scene was gratuitous.

Slowly but surely, we are learning things about season six of Game of Thrones.(Spoilers, obviously.) There has been a lot of speculation about Ian McShane’s role in the upcoming season. In November, McShane trolled fans by saying, “I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you’re never going to see again. I’ll leave it at that.”
Appearing on the BBC’s Breakfast, McShane got more specific about his role, saying, “My character really is like an ex-warrior who’s become a peacenik, so I have a group of peaceful … sort of a cult who … I bring back a much-loved character who everybody thinks is dead.” As the GoT fan site Watchers on the Wall notes, that jibes with this casting call:

Priest, in his 40’s or 50’s. A gruff ex-soldier who found religion. Now a no-nonsense rural priest who ministers to the poor of the countryside. He’s salt-of-the-earth man who has weathered many battles.
But MacShane didn’t stop there. Appearing on Radio 5, McShane got even more specific. Asked if the character he was bringing back was Sandor “The Hound” Clegane or Jon Snow, MacShane laughed along and gave a knowing answer: “I’ll leave you with that one. I think you might guess which one that is. It’s not the latter. It might be the former.”

So there you have it: Ian McShane is playing Septon Meribald and The Hound is coming back.

Ian McShane better say cocksucker at least 10 times this season, or I'm cancelling my HBO subscription.

Quote:
In a recent interview with The Telegraph (via Vulture), McShane discussed the incident, noting, “you say the slightest thing and the internet goes ape.” He says he “was accused of giving the plot away” by some people, but McShane has a simple response for anyone who got especially pissed at him for that: “Get a fucking life. It’s only tits and dragons.” Just in case that’s not enough contempt for Game Of Thrones, he also says he only took the gig in the first place so he could see his “old pals Charlie Dance and Stephen Dillane,” both of whom have been killed off, but he ended up taking the part anyway when he found out that it was only for one episode. “That means I must die at the end of it,” he says, most likely with a huge grin on his face because he’s super cool.

I was having this argument with my brother, who thinks he still is. Especially after seeing the trailer, I don't see why there is any reason to believe he is still alive.

HBO wouldn't try to deceive their audience at all. No way possible...

This is a series that has already had multiple people brought back from death. I'm not sure why anyone would care about Snow's current condition.

Unless your body is burnt to a crisp or your decapitated torso has a wolf head sewn on...you have decent odds to make a reappearance.

New trailer is out. I'm stoked about this season. It's interesting not knowing anything that is going to happen.

It's funny that there is outrage over the "brutal rape" even though it was their wedding night. Guessing that situation occurred fairly frequently in human history. Yet, didn't see the same Twitter storm over Theon's torture and dismemberment.

Pretty underwhelming opener. It was ok. The writing for the dothraki scenes was comically bad and felt significantly worse than the rest of the episode.

Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul
