These first 2 episodes have been great. I actually like the "Too much dialogue" that I once bitched about. Some funny lines this season. Once you accept the fact that Sorkin is gonna try to be cute, you can appreciate the lines.

So Sorkin hates social media and he hates Snowden. Got it.

Sorkin hates anyone and anything that disrupts the established gatekeepers of culture and publishing, allowing other people to report, criticize, and generally be as erudite and meandering as he is without having paid the dues he felt he paid. That's all it comes down to.

I still haven't caught Episode 2 from this season as it isn't showing up in my HBO On Demand choices.
I tried taping it last week and all I got was a black screen for an hour. Maybe I will catch up this week.

At least in the On Demand HD section they are all there. I keep forgetting it's on at 8 this year and not 9

Episode two still not there. I watched ep 3 this morning and it was decent. I am missing a few On Demand
episodes from various shows I watch. Going to call AT&T this afternoon from work and get the ball rolling on
switching to them.

So when Mac's producer met "The Source" at her table, she asked "The Source" if she worked for either the "V.C.D" or "B.C.D". I googled both. Nothing. Which is it and what is it?

I think I'm going to pretend that BJ Novak is still playing Ryan on this show. I'm pretty sure he is anyway in Sorkin's mind. Hoping to learn that he's in a position to acquire ACN thanks to wealth he's acquired from WUPHF.com.

This has been a very well written, entertaining, tight season. No wasted scenes. They got right to it from the first episode and have just been rolling.

We all know how it ends. Was that global warming stuff accurate from episode 3?

It's been alright. The wedding stuff was a bit contrived but I do like the fact that they make the most of
their 55 minutes and get shit done.

the calculation of 400 parts per million was, and the fact that no human has ever been on earth with co2 levels that high. Its been many many millions of years since its been like this, or anything close to this.

what we dont know is the actual impact on the planet. best guess tells us this will cause a runaway greenhouse effect. millions of years ago when this happened, the oceans rose 60+ feet. but we dont know if this will happen again, we just think it will, and we dont know if its something we can fix or not. bill nye says it best- were not worried about the planet. earth will eventually fix itself, but will we be able to survive until it does? it could easily be thousands of years before the earth naturally absorbs the co2 we have released... or if we find ways to sequester the carbon we might be able to bring the levels down in 100 years... its partly up to us politically to TRY, but it will also take a bit of luck because we simply dont know what to do.

Surprise ending. For some reason I knew who Will was talking to almost immediately.

It was a surprise ending but made sense once I put two and two together. Only one more episode left.

No nudity at all this season and I wouldn't expect any in the finale.

So I understand that B.J. Novak wanted the channel to have an app and it made Olivia Munn give a letter-perfect soliloquy and then made Sam Waterston have a heart attack and die? Sorkin's a trip, I tell ya.

According to the show Jimmy Kimmel did an interview with someone from Gawker and nearly all of their answers were identical to the answers the character from Newsroom gave.

Yeah, Emily Gould. She was the editor of Gawker back when it was more a New York gossip blog and less an engine of social-justice wordbarf. Kimmel had her on when he was subbing for Larry King (yeah, I know, weird), and she completely embarrassed herself. I think she left Gawker, wrote a memoir about being raped or almost raped, and receded to the peripheries of east-coast prep school kids with Important Blogs.

Sorkin thought this last episode was "the only good one" of the series. He took some heat from critics for being "anti rape victim" in this episode. Apparently he kicked a Newsroom writer (A women) out of the room when she objected to the way he was handling this issue in this episode.

Gawker has the story, ironically.

If this episode was the good one, what were the bad ones?

Back to the rape issue on this show. Didn't you think that as he was interviewing her, he was trying to read her. And the moment he knew she was a liar was when she said "I'm gonna win this one". That's not something a rape victim should say. More like something a pissed off girl would say when her boyfriend dumps her. It shouldn't be about winning and losing. That's why he didn't call her back and why he didn't do the story. That was the message, I think.
