it's the line that defines how great that show was. one of many but certainly that one.

I know I’m on an island with my BCS thoughts mostly but Gilligan making another show afterward that’s completely different and just as good actually reinforced how good BB was to me. If that makes sense

It does. But watching BCS made me appreciate different parts of BB even more that had nothing to do with the continuity of the two shows.

Im not sure quite how to articulate it. Probably cuz im a little high and drunk and not that articulate to begin with.

well this thread got me back into a rewatch of BB. I think this is my 4th or 5th time watching it. I still hate skylar as much as I ever have.

It’s great. It’s like if Rocky was a 60 hour movie.

Do you skip the fly episode on your rewatches?

This show obviously had an impact on me, although I’ve only watched it once. I like Walt’s slow transformation to Heisenberg from good to evil. I think of myself as a good person, incapable of really causing harm. But if I was born under different circumstances, could I have been a bad guy?

The opening of Goodfellas hits me the same way—paraphrasing, “ we didn’t think we were doing anything wrong, we thought people that played by the rules were suckers.”

I just discovered what I think might be a better Rocky

No chance in fucking hell i would ever skip the fly episode. Jesse hitting Walt in the face and saying you like that, hurts, huh? Is almost certainly the funniest 5 seconds in the entire series

What I never liked was Skylar's reluctance to back Walt's dream of becoming a murderous drug kingpin. What a dumb bitch.

I'm up to Madrigal in Season 5.

We're about to hit the stretch run of insanely great episodes to close it out.

Franch does seem like a solid dipping sauce.

I finished it up a few days ago, so very good. That last stretch of episodes is amazing and gets better every time I watch it.

Rewatching BCS now

Hank really did make a rookie mistake.

Why would he put the same tracker on Walt's car that he knows Walt knows about and where to look? I suppose you could argue that Hank wouldn't think that Walt would be on to him knowing but it is reckless if you think you are dealing with the Heisenberg that has been 2 steps ahead of you for 2 years.

I know the expression is a Southern one, and I knew I heard it once or twice before. I finally figured out where: Hoop Dreams. Arthur Agee's dad uses it (about himself, unfortunately).

Interestingly, directed by the same person (Rian Johnson) who directed the best episode (Ozymandias).

I don't mind Fly that much. But they were running out of money and had to do a bottle episode of basically one set.

But, I agree that it isn't a fun rewatch. It was fine.
