I agree with you, though. I haven't watched Part 2 yet. But Part 1 was 50/50.

I suspect the first half of this series will be that 50/50 mix to set the stage for the Rodney King riots in order to set the environment for when the OJ thing hit.

The last 4-5 hours will be mostly OJ and the country's reaction to OJ.

The end of part II was kind of interesting. They interviewed Nicole's boyfriend when she was separated from O.J.

There's a weird vibe with the people they are interviewing about him that I haven't quite figured out. I find myself hating the hideous old Jewish guys who judge OJ for hanging around with white guys more than I hate OJ.

Apparently, both Theon Greyjoy and Mark Fuhrman "had a bad couple years".

Not sure why, but I wasn't as in to last nights show. Found it a little boring...and was fast forwarding through it some. Maybe because I knew / remembered more about that part of the story. From watching this documentary though, I have learned a little more about the "times" and backstory of what was actually happening then. For me...at that time, I was playing in a 12" inch softball league...and we had a mix of white guys & black guys on our team. All good guys....and it was very interesting slugging post game beers and talking about OJ & the trial. The lines & arguments were pretty much racially drawn within our group.

It's amazing how Johnny Cochran was simultaneously both great and terrible, yet I still can't take him seriously because of Dana Carvey's impersonation.

In retrospect that trial seemed to delineate the point where America turned into some sort of a demented circus.

I was listening to another John McWhorter podcast and in this one he was talking about the concept of a "blaccent". He said that there most definitely is such a thing and in the vast majority of cases you can actually tell if a speaker is black just by hearing his or her voice. McWhorter said that there is a very subtle difference in the way black people pronounce the vowel sounds. He asked himself, "How could that be?" and concluded that it's the case simply because for the most part blacks and whites in America have been- and still are- so segregated.

Anyway, as it relates to Cochran, McWhorter mentioned Cochran thundering at the witness who claimed to have heard the voice of "an older black man" and acting as if such a thought was somehow racist. McWhorter says that Cochran was just wrong, but granted that it was a brilliant move during the trial.

Ironically, although he himself is black, McWhorter speaks without a "blaccent" and he seems somewhat confused by that, as others in his own immediate family do. I can definitely relate since I speak like a Superfan and neither of my parents had such a ridiculously pronounced Chicago accent.

How about OJ toying with Goldman and sticking him in the cheek 5 times before killing him.

He was enjoying it. Crazy bastard.

I was not planning on watching this series. But I saw a link to the first episode and watched it and was hooked. Loved the entire thing.

What a crazy sad life. From the ultimate highs to the ultimate lows.

One of the things I did not remember was the interview with Shapiro right after the verdict and how he was pissed about the race card. I am still not sure I understand that one. What did he think Cochran was going to do? That was his thing.

I would have liked to have known a little more about OJs kids and get an update on where they are in life what they are doing?

Isn't OJ going to be up for parole soon?

OJ Simpson as a stand in for "Black America" and civil rights was one of the more  moments of the whole fiasco.

The dashiki in the church...

He looked as uncomfortable as a person could be.

Then he didn't want the head gimmick to mess up his hair.

 yeah that was pretty funny, he did look very uncomfortable.

I liked Thug OJ in South Beach too. That did not fit him either.

And after everything else telling people no one was going to leave a hotel room was his downfall

Godfather OJ with his hoes.

Marcia Clark reporting on the Vegas case for Entertainment Tonight was odd too.

So much craziness.

I also would have been interested in hearing from more than 2 jurors. That older black lady was something

And one of the jurors was a former Black Panther, how did that get by the prosecution?

I have to hand it to Fuhrman. I don't think I would have had the guts to be interviewed after all that came out about him.

Had OJ been convicted, the civil unrest would have been biblical...

There's a host on Wisconsin Public Radio who doesn't sound the slightest bit black. I was surprised to find out he was. I don't know why; the show he hosts is about African music.

I actually thought Fuhrman was the third most reasonable and human cop that was interviewed in the show. Tom Lange is a total asshole.
