The beginning of Apocalypse Now with the Doors and the ceiling fan ect, is a masterpiece. Why they ever released that Redux is beyond me, completely changed the experience of the movie.

Midnight Madness has a good opening sequence also.

Any of the star wars movies 4-6. Halloween was pretty good.

I'm watching Patton right now.

I love this movie.

Juxtapose the way Patton leads the 3rd Army on that epic marathon across France to relieve the 101st in Bastogne is portrayed in Patton with how its depicted in Band of Brothers. Just completely different takes on it.

Techincally, the correct answer is Boogie Nights because it was one long take.

Just to name a few...

The Dark Knight - Joker Intro while robbing a bank. A "better class of criminal" than movie goers were ever expecting.

Inglorious Basterds - Hans Landa setting the table for what's to come.

Rocky - The image of Jesus Christ looking down upon the lost souls of Philadelphia while Rocky Balboa clings to his dream in a most brutal way.

Superman The Movie - Little kid reading his comic right into the opening credits flying at you accompanied by one of the greatest themes in movie history which then leads you straight to Krypton.

Ninja Scroll - Our hero is ambushed right of the bat but remains calm and subdues the threat all while schooling the thieves on the concept of greed.

Raising Arizona. Must last about 15 minutes.

Touch of Evil.

The opening shot is insane...its over 3 minutes long using 1958 technology. Orson Welles was a genius...
