I am actually your boss, Michael Scott. Welcome. Wow! You are very exotic looking. Was your dad a G.I.?

Yes. It is true. I, Michael Scott, am signing up with an online dating service. Thousands of people have done it, and I am going to do it. I need a username, and...I have a great one...'Little Kid Lover'. That way people will know exactly where my priorities are at.

Phyllis: What smell?
Karen: Must be an...air freshener plugged in somewhere. It smells like a funeral home.
Phyllis: Oh, I'll help you find it.
Karen: Oh, you know. Never...never mind.
Phyllis: What is it?
Karen: I... I... I, uh, think I'm just allergic to your perfume.
Phyllis: My perfume?
Karen: It's just my crazy nose. I'm... uh, used to different smells.
Phyllis: Bob Vance bought this perfume for me in Metropolitan Orlando. It's made from real pine.
Karen: Who's Bob Vance?
Phyllis: You have a lot to learn about this town, sweetie.

I learned today the this show is hip w/ all the teenagers now. I guess sort of like how The Honeymooners were when I was growing up.

Saw it today and man it's really good. I liked it when it was on but its really good watching it now. Still funny and the characters are becoming as classic as Ralph and Ed.

Dwight Schrute is like the post modern Norton / Kramer type.

not sure if someone here already talked about this, but theres a solid reason why Bob Vance introduced himself that way and it isn't a character quirk. Its free advertising for his company. He'd obviously be aware of the camera crew and know that the show is going to air. Dozens of free ad plugs for Vance Refrigeration.

Smart guy.

Good theory, but the writers "forgot" the documentary conceit pretty early on and just did Arrested Development without Ron Howard.

At the point of the boom guy, they show was well past when they should of ended it. Once the merger happened, it went downhill.

it went downhill when pam and jim got married, and michael scott leaving was the final straw. the show was pretty much on just to keep people's jobs. it literally was like an office job at that point.

seasons 2-4 are still some of the best TV of all time.

I've caught a fair amount of reruns lately and Michael Scott was horrible his last few seasons and the show got better after he left. The last season was as good as any they did.

For a lot of people, Michael was the show so it makes sense to view it as the end of it being good when he left.

The main 4-5 characters were good but the greatness of the show to me was in the ensemble and how well they played their characters. Creed, Toby, Meredith, Oscar were all fuckin aces.

Season 1?!? Which was pretty much a remake of the British show.

Yup. 30 Rock and Seinfeld are with The Office as the best ensembles ever.

www.CreedThoughts.gov.www/CreedThoughts. Check it out.

Agreed. IMO, this guy was the best 'background' character;

Yeah I actually was looking forward to Michael Scott leaving when I was watching live because he was pretty bad near the end. It's just a shame they decided to fill in the gap by having James Spader doing a Shatner impression, pointless and unfunny Andy Bernard stuff, pointless and unfunny Jim and Pam drama, and the worst character on the show in Nellie.

The jim and pam couple was always insufferable. Get the fuck out of here with that cute shit.

I never watched The Office consistently until it was already in syndication so I didn't realize how truly pathetic the show became at the end. It really is highlighted when you are like me, seeing the show out of sequence.

I agree. The more prepostersouly stupid they made him during that time, the worse the show became.

I thought Robert California was delightfully weird.

Season 1?!? Which was pretty much a remake of the British show.

The first season was only six episodes and the show hadn't found its own voice yet.

we watched it in syndication as well . 2 episodes a night. eventually, some other show took our time and we never finished it. it was during the last few days of michael as the branch manager.

eventually looking for something to watch, my wife and i started it when it made its way to netflix. we watched the whole thing. my wife quickly began to have woman hatred for pam as she and jim got together. i didnt' get it but eventually agreed. I thought that was a bad story arch and just didn't really fit.

when will ferrell took over we had a converstation whether we should even continue. Robert California was great though.

Steve Carrell did his best to make it work, but you can't make Michael into a fraudster. He's a well-meaning doofus.
