Finished watching it. Really enjoyed it. I was expected it to be horrible but was pleasantly surprised.

Zabka and Macchio both did a great job.

Only negative I found was that the ending seemed kinda strange to me, like they were expecting it to only be 1 season and were caught off guard trying to find a way to move forward. Makes me worry about next season.

So this was just what America needed in 2018. I’m going to do a rewatch & try to compile all of Johnny’s best quotes. Because I was amused frequently.

One thing that stands out in my mind - when he was recounting his HS beefing history with Larusso (and painting himself as the victim) he mentioned that Mr. Miyagi might have given his friend Tommy brain damage.

Image

I believe it.

Phenomenal. Seriously would have been ok with just a fun little sequel, but it was very good.

Karate's Bad Boy, Mike Barnes coming in season 2 I believe. Can Terry Silver be far behind?

And at the end of the day, it's all just going on in a snow globe being held by an autistic kid

Nice ending to set up season 2.

Didn't like how quick Miguel turned heel. It just played into the stereotype people had. Though I guess Aisha goes against that.

Great series though.

Not a full heel turn. You can tell he thinks he's doing what Johnny wants.

Watched it last night and really liked it. Not sure how they make season 2 as good.

Yeah, this show is fantastic.

Season 2 is going to be EPIC with a fully trained Cobra Kai army battling Daniel's Dojo for All Valley supremacy.

 Me too. Giving those two episodes for free was sheer marketing genius.

I just canceled mine today. Still get the rest of the month for free. Going to rewatch the season again before it is over.

Definitely. I'm keeping my subscription just so I can keep re-watching the whole season.

did the same as a lot of people--watched the first 2 episodes for free. just signed up for the free trial today. will probably "binge" the remainder this weekend.

it is fantastic. though predictable and somewhat cliche'd, it seems like they're actually having fun with the tropes. i love the set up that larusso's daughter is friends with the assholes who got into the fight at the convenience store. and the fact that johnny is basically taking in all the rejects to make them into tough kids. reminds me a bit of "role models" and "drillbit taylor".

and the soundtrack kicks ass too. really looking forward to the rest.

this was the most entertaining thing i've watched in a long time. it was predictable, sure, but everything i saw coming i couldn't help but be excited to see happen. i don't know why, that's just what good fan fiction does. i should be all over this for being contrived and silly, but i fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

when we finished it, we went back and watched the first movie again.

the ending of the season opens up a ton of possibilities for the next. maybe we'll get to see kreese's background, some sequences of him as a kid in vietnam, getting a feel for why he's such a massive douchebag racist asshole. as we've seen with johnny, everything has its history. no one is born a villain. and we can get insight into kreese's mental state. sure, he probably still has to be the villain anyway. but the writers seem to know how to handle all of this really well. you can tell they were massive fans of the movies.

the scene where daniel visits miyagi's grave really got me. mainly when he sits in his car and remembers the "balance" speech.

this is great stuff. and of course...more 80's shit is going to get this treatment. i even have my own ideas for one franchise.

Hey,

I just watched the first 2 episodes and thought it was great!

The rest you have to sign up for Youtube_Red to see them.

The 2 main actors don't look too different from the original movie.

A great storyline but as you soon discover,a lot of amazing coincidences are put in to
the plot to move the story along.

I think this might be the best show I've watched as far as action with a story in the last 10 years!

Sweep the Leg....LIVES AGAIN!

I have 2 episodes left and like everybody else,I love it! So does my wife. The only issue I have is not with the show but Youtube Red itself. It doesn't even have a decent menu to easily find where your shows are. I had to really do a search just to find Cobra Kai again. They should have one ribbon of shows listed that just fall under the RED banner so you can see what your money is getting you. The other issue is product. I have to pay 10 bucks a month because they came up with one great show?

What else do they have?

We already know Kreese’s Nam background. Watch Rambo II. He was a dick there too.

Terry's Peeps issue was the only one that I had also.

My wife and I binge-watched it yesterday and we both thought it was terrific. Perfect length for a binge-watch also. If you loved the original movie, you would love this.

The brain-damage thing was great also. There are so many little references like that in there.

Watching this again. Johnny Lawrence is the G.O.A.T.

I was gonna compile his best quotes, but it would be too exhausting.
