Roseanne was on Joe Rogan podcast and she was awful. What a fuckin idiot. Perfect example of losing millions of dollars because you can't keep your public mouth shut.

through 3 episodes, this really is pretty decent. it has moments of dumb humor or filler-jokes but i think it's been pretty good so far. i'm starting to think it can make it--because of laurie metcalf. she's definitely more of a clown character, but she's been a strong presence on the show even when it was "roseanne". they're giving more strength to secondary characters which helps too.

but i do keep thinking...roseanne really should be with this show. now that it's called "the conners", if it continues to last--ABC just bought more episodes--she could be back. they brought dan back.

Agree on everything here. Laurie Metcalf is great but they should bring back Roseanne.

After the new Becky thing, who gives a shit?

It is good but I am getting a touch annoyed with Metcalf. Always loved her but she seems a bit more over the top. Maybe it is me being old and crabby or maybe she is just on too much now without Roseanne.

it's still a touch "rusty" at times, where it feels like the scene either is clunky or the acting is just a bit off. overall it's still watchable and mostly entertaining.

modern sitcoms sometimes really try too hard to squeeze comedy from a stone lemon. they used to be written by beat-driven comic writers who knew the format. now it's like they're trying to change it, but they don't know what to. everything seems to be written dramatically, with one-liners forced in to make it a comedy. it always throws the pace off. even staples like "modern family" have always had this problem.
