It's meant to be. Walter White and Tony Soprano are power characters. But interesting?

Fair enough. Give me Boyd Crowder either way.

Good choices. I was trying to list one from The Wire and couldn't decide on who was the best one.

Omar Little is the most intriguing character from The Wire, though Marlo and Stringer are also very good choices.

In my opinion, Gus Fring is the most intriguing character from Breaking Bad.

Gus and Omar are great too.

That is what makes shows like BB and The Wire so good is they have multiple interesting characters

Yeah, Boyd is pretty remarkable, one of the most complex characters in television history.

Yeah, even Hank is up for consideration on Breaking Bad.

Music history, fake ID business, China connections, murder charges...a lot to unravel there. Oh, and:

Only character that makes me rewatch a show by himself. I know Doc loves Raylen, I do too, but he’s sui generis

Absolutely yes.

Probably my favorite show of all time.

It still amazes me to see posts like this. The first season of it was terrible. Did it get better when they took a road trip after that season was over?

"The Leftovers is a bad tv show" is an opinion so terrible only Brick could have asserted it.

The first season wasn't good. They basically rebooted the show after season 1. If I can expect the rest of it to be like season 1 then I'll pass.

The first season was great and they went about the only direction they could for Season 2. This is just a terrible opinion. You seem more like a Brooklyn Nine Nine guy though so different strokes for different folks and all that

There has to be a reason why so much of it was changed for season 2. Even the people in charge have talked about all the changes they made.

If the rest of the show is like season 1 then it's probably not for me.

Uh, maybe because they went through the source material from the novel in season one?

It wasn't rebooted. And that article you linked is idiotic. It starts with the premise that the cast was being drastically changed and then goes on to list every crucial character that is returning. It doesn't even make any sense.

That's what a reboot does. It takes a few of the good things and changes most of the things they didn't want to continue.

Anyways, if it's pretty much the same show from season one then it's probably not for me.

I stuck it out w/ The Leftovers. The premise was interesting. I wanted the show to be really good. It had the potential. but at the end it just didnt do it for me.

It was the Eric Lindros of HBO shows.

That's not my understanding of the term "reboot" in the context of television/cinema.

In any case, this certainly wasn't a reboot by any definition. The main characters all remained and simply moved forward with their lives. It would be like saying they rebooted Seinfeld when Jerry and George started working on the show within the show.

I vaguely remember the series now but I liked season 1. Not loved, but liked. Season 2 just was like WTF is this bullshit. or maybe that was season 3. forgettable series.

What's an example of show that rebooted?

If the main characters all go away then it's just a new show.
