There is a lot of weird stuff that they drop in for no particularly discernable reason.

What role did including Mandarin have in forwarding anything. His presence was like an SNL skit that starts funny but doesn't know when to end.

I suppose it was to reinforce the idea that his character was the fake Mandarin and that the real leader of the Ten Rings was Wenwu, but I agree it was unnecessary and probably just comic relief.

I was entertained, and the acting was pretty good.

Awkwafina doesn’t need any more of a story arc.

Seemed like there was a lot of lazy writing, moreso than most MCU movies. For example, the driving through the shifting forest...at no point was I afraid they wouldn't get through unscathed. It just seemed pointless.
