The first two hours were awful .... Monday's two hours were better.

I find it very annoying that the Middle East president dude looks like Mancow with Elvis hair.

I also don't care for the fact that the head of CTU walks all hunched over like Ed Sullivan .... the guy has the posture of a prawn.

What I dont understand is why does CTU always have the most inept leaders? Every season of this show, the leader of CTU or the FBI is a fuckin dumbass.

No one ever listens to Jack. If people would just shut the fuck up, and do what he says, things would work out so much easier.

That too ... I even yelled at the TV that this dope was dumber than that broad (Driscoll?) whose kid 86'ed herself halfway thru one of the seasons, and I was unclear as to how that one was able to comb her hair in the morning let alone run a CTU office.

This whole story line with the woman with the douchey ex-boyfriend is just ridiculous. Why can't she just say "I changed my name because I was frightened by this guy and I didn't want him to find me. Please arrest this man". Case closed. If he somehow is involved with all the bad shit that is going on I will seriously consider to stop watching this show.

Agreed. On top of the fact that the guy looks like Kerry Wood's brother, that tangent is already ass-wearying ... I'm hoping for a cougar to crash through the window and kill them both.

From what I gather, she was into some illegal shit and this guy may have gone to jail for her. So it may be a little bit more complicated than it seems...

That's what I'm thinking. He covered for her, did the time, and now wants his.

I'm afraid that this guy is connected to what's going on, and is planning to use his blackmail of her against CTU....This is '24' though so she could end up being the mole and this whole side story ends up in her killing him to make her look evil, etc.

I missed the first hour+ on Sunday...how did they reasonably explain Jack's recovery? Or did they just move on w/o explanation...until the brief bits on Monday?

The daughter mentioned that he had finished his treatments. They didn't add any other detail.

I'm having a hard time seeing the ass-kicking Starbuck play the scared blackmailee. Seems like bad casting to me unless she plans on going all-Jackie Bauer on the Kerry Wood guy later on.

Also, they are starting to repeat themselves. Didn't Jack cut off one of Kim's boyfriends arms in season 2 or 3 to get him away from a bomb or something?

Thanks. Now I just have to remember to tell the wife this (before next week's show starts) so I can watch in relative peace.

I remember Jack beheading an informant as a way to regain his cover quickly in Season 2. Is that what you are thinking about? I thought of that after seeing the dude's hand get chopped off.

No, I remember that too. But, one of the incarnations of Kim was she was working at CTU and dating one of the hot shots there and I think he got caught in a building that was going to explode or he was connected to a bomb or something and the only hope was for Jack to cut his arm off. I think it was after the season where Kim was lost in the forest being hunted by wolves.

Here you go. I found it Season 3 -

Wikipedia wrote:
In a choice between letting a terrorist escape with the virus and beginning the day again, or using the titanium clamps to secure it to him to isolate it, Chase sacrifices himself. The virus, in its container, is strapped to Chase's arm so that the terrorist cannot escape with it. Jack is unable to prevent the virus from being released so he cuts off Chase's hand so that he can secure the virus in a fridge. In his last appearance on the show, Chase was being wheeled into surgery with hopes to have his hand surgically re-attached.[7]

Ok, now I remember. That was in Season 3. The character was Chase Edmunds, and he was Bauer's second fiddle that season. Here is a blurb from Wikipedia about the incident:

Quote:
In a choice between letting a terrorist escape with the virus and beginning the day again, or using the titanium clamps to secure it to him to isolate it, Chase sacrifices himself. The virus, in its container, is strapped to Chase's arm so that the terrorist cannot escape with it. I still haven't forgiven the show for killing Curtis.

Yeah, Curtis was my guy. It was sad when they gave him the boot.

Bill dying was rough, but at least he died for a good reason. Curtis got punked.

I would have been upset for them killing off Edgar, but it gave us the most unintentionally hilarious line ever...

Yes the whole La Femme Nikita & Kerry Wood thing is a real yawner so far. I like the girl reporter they arrested by mistake. She's got that perpetual little smirk thing going for her, and I like it.

Last night's episode was lame. Basically an hour of filler.

Renee continues to be gorgeous. That's really all I took away from last nights. They've got to have some plot development episodes here and there.
