Saw it over the weekend. The depth of social message is a little overstated. It was there, for sure, but, IMO, it was much less prominent than Midget perceived. Gun shop, rodeo guy, black woman coming by for dinner. Everything else was on a locker room humor level, which I found to be the better executed parts. The naked fight scene was the single most disturbing scene I have ever seen on non-news television. Cohen pushed the limits on that one quite successfuly.

The part where they roll into the dinner had me literally on the floor laughing my ass off. I don't remember ever laughing harder at a movie scene.

I'm glad its finally on cable. It's number 3 on my top 5 list for favorite movies.

I love the scene where he goes to the gun shop and asks the guy for what gun is best to shoot jews with, and the guy actually answers. Then there is the scene where he goes to the hotel with his pants hanging off his ass, talking street. "Just two pimps, no hos."

i didn't like the movie very much, even though i LOVED the tv show. i found it contrived and forced. i think it's a combination of too much scripted scenes and the over-the-top love for the movie that turned me off.
