they need to do right by Under the Dome and make a mini series

Can't believe how bad they screwed that show up.

All set for it to be a limited series, people watch, CBS says fuck it let's make more episodes, people don't watch.

Shitty is a bit far. Thought the series started out so well then struggled in the middle. Part of the problem was the original material. It was more a love story, which is fine, but a tough sell to a general TV audience. Also, King took a decisive take that their was a lone gunman assassin, which takes the allure out of the JFK story.

Really JFK was merely a framing device for a story of 60s nostalgia and King's thoughts on time travel. Tough story to tell on the screen.

i really liked how they incorporated the extra story lines for Bill. sure, the trope of puppy love could be seen a mile away, but the way Amberson handled it was pretty genius.

Yea I agree.... I know there was so much in the book that is hard to translate to the mini series.... I just wished they could have made the series longer

I just wrapped this show up this week. I thought it was very well done, and Franco gave a very convincing performance. I really want to go back and read the back again since there seemed to be a few things pop up that I did not remember from the original story. Either way, both the book and the show were great.

And yes, the Under The Dome show on CBS was truly awful. It started out with some promise, and then got completely off the rails that it became fun-bad.

Most King adaptations on network TV seem to end up that way.

I've got about an hour to go ... I believe Harry's by cracky just about done teaching Jake 'history' ... frankly I'm not sure that I care where the rest goes as I enjoyed the 'historical' overview as enough of a payoff to the whole thing.

I see that Hulu is offering a free trial month with Showtime for those interested.

One thing that I would have liked to have seen is an episode to focus more on the time in Jodie. Less Bill would have been great.

I just finished the first three episodes and, at least at this point, agree that less Bill would be great. I guess they want a character who has the potential to fuck everything up, though.

Sadie sure is purty.

I finished it over the weekend. Even though Bill was irritating as hell, what happened to him was pretty rough. He was a massive dumbass, though -- I'm not sure how someone could think that "seeing" the very pregnant wife of the guy who was going to try and shoot the president was going to work out without any complications.

"Wait, you're dating a married woman who's eight months pregnant? "
"Well, yeah, but her husband seems like a reasonable guy. I'm sure he'll understand that we're in love. I mean, he's probably going to try to kill Kennedy...but aside from that..."

Just finished this, lulls a bit in the middle but the first few and last episodes were fantastic.

Sign up for Hulu for a free month.

Watch the series.
