Symbolism, my friend.

The suit symbolized him coming up in the world from nothing. Frank almost always wore a suit. Notice how he was wearing his robe during the scene with Ray, when Frank was at his most vunerable?

That is how I took it.

I just figured the diamonds were in his pocket.

I just figured the diamonds were in his pocket.

I knew they were hidden somewhere, as he was hoping to escape with them (worth $3.5M?) over the paltry $1M in the suitcase, but did not know if they were in the suit.

And if you murder a fairly high rolling criminal...check his pockets man.

We did too much deep thinking in Season 1, which led to disappointment. I would think Ray could have done a better job losing the tail. I guess in the end, both guys had a death wish and got what they were looking for.

I was trying to think of a movie where just about everyone dies, and it was Resevoir Dogs. Normally you don't pop off that many people in a show. It loses it effect after a while.

Truly abysmal. It's not entertainment. It's HBO.

I want a refund.

I thought the finale was decent. I enjoyed it. Weird and kinda fun bad and kinda ok at times.

Way more than 1% liked the finale.

The other two I liked from an unintentional comedy standpoint

This opening scene with Vaughn and his woman is laughable. He just can't play this role. Too bad.

Vaughn playing the tough guy had me laughing again....

first he is beating up a guy who is about 120 pounds , Chris Sale thin.

second, tearing off the armrest on the blackjack table...thats tough guy stuff...of which he needed to be alone for!

if this is the best outburst of violence that can be produced...well....someone needs to lose a job.

I look forward to the 90 min war....does Vince go hire Pancho and Co to take care of these guys?

I just got back to this episode after being away and couldn't agree more. Did you hear him break in and out of what he thinks is a Chicago street accent? That was insulting to inner city guys like Joe and I.

5 on 1 supposedly battle experienced military contractors and they get taken out by a single guy? That is plausible if I am watching Steven Segal but you cannot have that if you are trying to play it straight in a drama.

I think this whole season is far more soap opera than drama with implausible situations and poor, overly emotive acting.

It seems like the writer wanted to write some kind of Lady Mc Beth character for Vaughn's wife but never actually read Mc Beth.

I haven't read the analysis for the conclusion. I assume it didn't go well.

I think this show gets one more shot with a season 3 to prove whether the first 7 episodes of season 1 were a fluke.

maybe if the writer can get over himself and actually write a compelling story again, it can be saved.

Pizzolatto began writing a script based on occult aspects of the American transportation system, then shifted the story to a modern tragedy. I think he made this shift while filming was taking place; that's why certain "occult" elements existed in the first half of the episodes but disappeared later and were replaced by "tragic" storylines.

The penultimate episode, where Vaughn and Farrell commit to a violent alliance and take out the Russians, is definitely a "McBethian" moment.

I wish I had read your reviews of the finale. It wasn't worth my time and kept me from watching the second half of a bear pre season game. Bad acting, bad writing, bad directing, bad cinematography, bad casting. I bet the craft food services was also bad.

I'm not gone to waste time analyzing because they didn't spend the time in creating. Nice Interview With A Vampire ending, dickhead. I didn't even get the impression that the reporter will write the story.

As I said, Season 1 is enough to buy watching a Season 3 for me but I will be cutting bait early on that one if he doesn't give me something.

They never explained the masks, which were a prominent feature. Did he just like to watch people have sex with masks on? Forget it, I just don't care.
