I watched first two episodes but there were a lot of people around so couldn't give it full attention. I was surprised that robot was still intact I thought he got blown up in a volcano. I didn't understand what the pirates were doing. I don't know why they have to make Mandalorian look inept. He needed saved twice and how much time passed when Baby Yoda had to get help? I think it would be better if Baby Yoda talked. I think he's old so he should talk. They keep cutting to him for his reaction but he can't talk so he just stares into the camera. It seemed like some things happened on another show I didn't know what was going on or I didn't remember because season 2 was so long ago.

some of Mando's/Grogu's story progress was in Book of Boba Fett

The back half of Book of Boba Fett.

Another semi-interesting episode this week. I do like where this appears to be heading. This was episode 5 of 8 this season so they are going to have some work to do these last couple to keep a lot of people hooked. Favorite part of the episode for me was the very brief introduction of Zeb from Rebels fame. The CGI looked great. He was never called out by name but very clear that is who it was. MANY people are talking about the Ahsoka series and having a few Rebels characters in there so his appearance may show a possible crossover in the final episodes to the new series. There is another payoff late in the episode that indicates another bad guy from the past may be reappearing soon as well which isn't a total surprise but welcome news.

I would have bet you a bazillion dollars old Blue was going to get blown up sitting around scanning that ship at the end.

Great to see Zeb.

Interested to see where all this intrigue is going. Does beskar automatically mean Mandalorian? I mean the Empre had tons of it.

The Armorer gonna turn heel?

I read ratings are down from Season 2 but that probably says more about Disney+ than Mandalorian. Disney lost a lot of subscribers due to the trash they were putting out like Kenobi and all the Marvel shows.

After an odd episode last week where we got some cameos from famous actors and a singer, we had 2 episodes to wrap up season 3. I was pretty satisfied with episode 7 and leaves a lot to either wrap up or leave as a nice cliffhanger for season 4. Also nice the episode was 50 minutes long and hope for another one next week with any luck.

This season sucks. They turned the Mandalorian into a glorified baby sitter and made the star a female Mandalorian chick who somehow knew how to wield the sword that the poor pathetic man could not. More woke bullshit from Disney.

She knows how to wield the sword because she had it in her possession for a long time before Gideon took it ( kind of explained during episode ). More of the history of the sword is explained in the Clone Wars cartoons and Darth Maul had this in his possession for a while as well. It's not woke bullshit it's Star Wars canon. I'd agree that this show has lost half a step but I would not say the entire season sucks. The last episode was one of the best of the season.

Got it. Yes that episode was not very good, and I was not thrilled with it either. I believe you will enjoy the latest and hopefully also the finale. The short story was that Bo Katan has had significant experience using the DarkSaber which is why she can yield it easier than Mando.

It's still true, though, that Mando has been portrayed as a much less competent fighter this season when compared to previous seasons. The writers have made him seem weaker in an apparent attempt to make Bo Katan's rise to prominence more comprehensible. But this move has only served to undermine the show's overall credibility/coherence/believability.

Mando’s been shown as capable as he’s always been. One episode he’s untouchable the next episode he’s getting his ass saved by Boba, Fennic, baby Yoda, Luke, Bo-Katan even before this season, etc…

Nah, Juiced is right: They've turned Mando into a pussy so the Boca Raton can seem tough. It's the zero sum game of identity politics in narrative form.

That's the power of the girl boss. She isn't just amazing and bad ass she also has the ability to make men look pathetic, weak, and stupid. The hack show creators are trying to show a strong woman but they think the audience are as stupid as they are and won't get it unless she saves or emasculates the man in some way showing her superiority. I watched the first 2 episodes and in second one she had to save him twice and I saw where it was going. Its a shame because they really had something with the first season.

It is pretty obvious that they want Boca Raton to be the hero and star. Look at the way the scenes are filmed.

Quote:
If you’ve been wondering why Din and Grogu have been taking a relative backseat to Bo-Katan and other Mandalorians this season on The Mandalorian, well, it appears that’s by design, and the original mission of the show, the Young Wolf and Cub set-up of Mando and Baby Yoda, is not really the scope of the series now.

"Who is the Mandalorian at this point? And so I think it could be anyone. And I think that's what they're trying to define in many ways, is what does that mean to be Mandalorian?"

The Mandalorian and Boca Raton has been fine. They have to establish her as this great leader for the plot.

Grogu has done nothing this season. It's like Luke Skywalker just trained him to be the Luke that sat in a cave sulking for a few decades until he was found by Rey.

A lot of people think Mandalorian will leave after this season and it will be her show. That doesn't sound like a very good idea since this season is the in the 40s when seasons 1 and 2 were in the 90s. That is a huge drop from one season to the next not sure if I've ever seen that before.

I'm fine with baby yoda doing all the crazy things he does. If he wants to do a flip and shoot someone with a paintball gun or get in a robot and drive it around I'm cool with it.

The quest to "retake" Mandalore is interesting, but Boca Raton herself is not a particularly compelling character. This problem is compounded by the fact that the actress playing Boca is wooden and nondescript in her performance.

There is no doubt that MANY things need to be resolved but unlikely that they all will with just one episode left. Hoping that Paz Viszla is not dead but he got messed up pretty good by those guards. The Bo-Katan storyline has been a bit unclear so it will be interesting how things get left. The retaking of the planet is semi-interesting but the place is decimated so it would take years to build anything back there, which is why I think eventually Din Djarin and Grogu take off for other adventures. Hopefully we find out more this week.

im just hypothesizing here based off what ive seen this season, so not really spoilers, but....

Im thinking it has to be either Din or Bo Katan that gets killed, right? Probably from a heel turn by The Armorer, that shes a remnant of Maul's old crew The Death Watch?

Din would be a heavy one to deal with and change the show (obvi). Bo Katan dying would be presented as impactful and the fans of the cartoons might lose their shit; casual fans maybe not so much "oh, damn. that sucks" and then its back to Din and Grogu quests + leading Mandalore maybe?

No way Grogu dies. Maybe he does.

But it sure sounds like 1 of those 3 are doomed

Would be superextragreat if Broken Ratbone got whacked.

Theres only so much exposure to permanent bitch face ("PBF") one can take.

I can't stand brooding, overly-ambitious people who hunger for power like she does, either
