I still really like “Dynamite”. Yes, “Step Brothers” was great. “Observe and Report” was awesome but way too dark to put it in that list I think.

I think a season or two of Eastbound and Down should be watched before attempting to view Observe and Report. Just so you know the type of humor you're getting into.

Idiocracy....very good...not sure it's great.

The idea of it is great....the actual movie is just good.

I don't know why but I always laughed at Blade of Glory. Yeah it's really fucking stupid, which is probably why I liked it.

Blades of Glory is a lot like Semi-Pro...dumb as shit, but funny.

Stepbrothers is fucking great. So is Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Old School is classic, too.

Whoever said 40 Year Old Virgin is a half hour too long is also spot on.

All that said, Tropic Thunder is still awful.

All good calls there.

I love the Gina character in Virgin.

That's because she'd bend you over and make you call her Mommy.

Great premise. Not great execution. Lacked a good 3rd act if I recall.

Some of the best comedies often have nowhere to go by the end. Holy Grail would be the best example.

That’s why “Life of Brian” is superior.

no greater example than "Spies Like Us"

funny comedy, ran out of plot about halfway through...

I was just looking at Jim Carrey's filmography post 2000, and it's really not good. Aside from Bruce Almighty I can't think of anything that really stands out comedy wise.

Also, Undercover Brother is a really underrated comedy from the early 2000s. In the very good, but not great category.

I used to like Idiocracy, but I've come to agree with the notion that it's just elitist porn.
